As dawn painted the sky in soft hues of gold and pink, the soldiers of Ardan's army prepared for their departure. The rhythmic clinking of armor and the murmur of hushed conversations filled the air as each commander led their men toward the grand palace gates. Ardan and Kalen, regal on their horses, imparted their final instructions with a sense of resolute urgency. The crisp morning air was charged with anticipation, and a few words of encouragement exchanged among the soldiers ignited a fierce determination within them.

Lilian, Noah, and Roma observed from a distance, their figures framed against the early light as they watched the disciplined ranks of soldiers begin their march toward Lavitica. Lilian inhaled deeply, her senses absorbing the tranquil mist that enveloped the landscape. The serenity of the dawn stirred something deep within her, evoking a bittersweet sense of longing. She wished to preserve this moment of peace, not only for the kingdom of Silla but for Lavitica as well.

Her thoughts drifted to Obene and the villagers, a pang of worry tightening in her chest. She wondered where he was now and how he was coping with the upheaval. Despite her heartfelt pleas to Ardan to seek out Obene, the king had decided to give him time to come to terms with his new reality. The unresolved tension of Obene's situation weighed heavily on her mind as she prepared to face the unknown challenges ahead.

She gazed at the soldiers ahead, contemplating how many would return alive. Marlin, her father, was not one to surrender easily and would likely fight to the death. Lilian wrestled with her feelings about him, knowing he was the enemy, yet her thoughts lingered on the possibility of any redeeming qualities.

Noah noticed her deep thoughts and asked, "Are you okay?"

Lilian forced a reassuring smile. "I'm fine," she replied, her eyes fixed on their destination as she gripped her horse's reins.

By nightfall, they set up camp in the heart of the forest. The scene was alive with the glow of the bonfire and the bustling activity of soldiers preparing their meals. Ardan and the commanders gathered around, focused on finalizing their plans.

Kalen approached Lilian and took a seat beside her. "Are you tired?" he asked, his concern evident.

"It's been manageable," Lilian replied with a smile.

Kalen served her some food, insisting she eat. "You need to stay strong. We don't know what's ahead, and going into battle on an empty stomach won't help."

Lilian chuckled, appreciating the humor. "How is Ardan holding up?"

Kalen glanced toward his brother, busy with the commanders. "He's the same as always. He finds comfort in making plans, even if they don't always come to fruition," he said with a laugh.

Lilian shifted the conversation. "Any news about Obene?" she inquired.

Kalen's expression grew solemn. "It was a shock for him, and I worry about him. It's not easy to adjust when your entire world shifts."

Lilian reached out, her fingers gently clasping Kalen's hand. "He's strong and capable," she said, her voice steady but full of warmth. "He'll figure things out, and the three of you will rule the kingdom together." Her eyes held a reassuring glimmer, conveying her unwavering belief in Obene's resilience.

Their intimate moment was abruptly shattered by the sound of pounding footsteps and the frantic clamor of galloping horses. Lilian's heart raced as a surge of panic gripped her. Soldiers dashed through the camp, their movements chaotic as they scrambled to arm themselves. The once tranquil night was now filled with frenzied energy, the soldiers' urgent activity reflecting the sudden danger.

Through the thickening darkness, Lavitica's flag cut a menacing silhouette. The banner, a symbol of impending threat, was unfurled with deliberate force. At its center stood Marlin, encased in gleaming golden plate armor that seemed to catch every glint of the flickering bonfire. His armor, though imposing, did little to mask the cruel satisfaction in his eyes.
