I woke up on Saturday morning to the loud sound of a truck reversing. I was not happy. I got out of bed and looked out of the window to see movers moving boxes from a large truck into the house across the road. For such a bad start to the morning it was a really nice day, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and there was just a light breeze. Quite a nice day for February in Sydney, Australia where it is usually as hot as Mars.

I checked my phone to see what time it is. When I picked it up I noticed two things. One, It was only 10am in the freaking morning, are these people fucking serious? And two, I had gotten a text from Luke.

LukeyPukey:

Hey, I enjoyed this week it was really fun, maybe we could do something this afternoon? :)

Luke and I had done something together everyday after school this week. It has been really fun, Luke is really funny and I feel like I can really connect with him. I don't think its on a romantic level which is a shame because I don't want to lead him on but I really don't want to tell him that I don't have feelings for him and potentially break his heart if he did have feelings for me. I decided that he probably didn't though and we were just hanging out as friends which I really like and I hope that if this doesn't blow up in my face that we can be really good friends. Wow I just friend-zoned him. This is why I've only had two boyfriends.

Me:

Yeah I'd like that. Meet at the park at 2?

LukeyPukey:

Yeah cool I'll see you there. :)

Luke only lived a few blocks away and there is a park directly in the middle of our two houses. We usually meet there if we're both too lazy to actually get changed into normal clothes and go out. We went there in our pj's once after we had a movie marathon.

Since there is no chance of me falling back to sleep I decided to go downstairs and grab something to eat. I trudged downstairs and into the kitchen where my mum was sitting at the kitchen bench drinking some coffee and reading a magazine.

"Morning ma," I said as I walked up behind her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Oh good morning honey, how did you sleep?" she said setting her mug down and hugging me back.

I walked over to the pantry and poured myself some cereal. "Yeah good, apart from the rude early awakening," I said rolling my eyes and joining her at the kitchen bench  with my bowl of cereal.

"I was thinking we could all go over there a bit later once everyone is up and ready so we can got introduce ourselves?" Mum suggested going back to reading her magazine.

"Yeah sounds like a plan. But can we try not to go too late, Luke and I are going to meet up at the park at two."

"Yeah we should be done by then. So Luke huh? You guys have been spending a lot of time together lately. Do you think that you guys will be an item soon?"

"Mmmm I was thinking about it and I realised that I don't want to be his girlfriend I actually want to be his best friend. It's a frush," I smiled.

"A frush?" Mum raised her eyebrows and looked over her glasses.

"Yeah a frush. Lia, Nick, Samantha and I made it up," I smiled.

Mum looked clueless.

"Okay so you know when you see or meet someone that is really nice and you really want to be their good friend? Well that's a frush. A friend/crush."

"Oh okay," mum laughed. "God you lot are the most messed up kids I've ever met," She laughs again.

"Mama, what are you laughing at?" Mason asks as he walks into the kitchen in his pj's, rubbing his eyes. He had his toy dog in his arms. Dad gave him that dog when he was born and Mason never lets it out of his sight.

"Oh just your sister being silly. Did we wake you up?" Mum asked.

"No mama, the truck outside did." Mason walked over to where I was sitting and held his arms up so that I could pick him up.

"Hey Mase, do you wanna go meet the people across the road  today?" I asked giving him a hug.

"Yeah ok. Do you think that they will be nice?" Mase asked.

"Well I really hope so," I said.

Not that long after Hunter and Lucy came into the kitchen looking tired and confused.

"Hey ma. I didn't know that there were new people moving in," Hunter said as he kissed mum on the cheek.

"We have talked about it before babe but you were probably too busy thinking about whatever it is that goes on in that head of yours," Lucy says as she comes and hugs mum and I then kisses Mason on the head.

"Yeah ok,"Hunter rolls his eyes then messes up mine and Masons hair.

This happens every morning. My family always greet each other like we haven't seen each other in a few days. But I like it, it just shows how close we are to each other.

"We're going to go introduce ourselves once everyone is ready, so hurry up and get ready. Oh and we want to make a good impression team so that means, Mason, no superhero costumes. Skye, no clothes with lots of holes in them or trackies. Hunter, make sure your clothes smell like you actually do wash them. And Lucy, please don't be overly perky like you are when you're nervous," Mum orders.

We always refer to our family as a team and mum is the captain.

"Yes ma'am," We all saluted.

I ran upstairs and headed straight to my walk- in closet. I decided on the first band shirt and pair of black shorts I could find. I then ran straight into my bathroom. I really wanted to get this "Meeting the new neighbours" thing done quickly so that I could go meet Luke at the park. Once I got out of the shower I noticed that I chose my Green Day singlet. I hadn't worn this in ages. When I was dressed I did my hair in a braid and then put it so that it was adjusted over the front of my shoulder. Then I did my makeup with just some eyeliner and mascara. I quickly put a grey beanie on and matching converse. I put some bracelets on and ran downstairs.

To my surprise everyone was already waiting so we all walked out of the door to meet the new neighbours. Once we crossed the road we all walked up to the door. We heard some yelling from the other side about who will get it. While we waited for the door to be opened I took my phone out and checked the time 12:41. Okay that's plenty of time. Just then I heard the door open and my mum squeal with delight.

I looked up and saw Calum.
