I feel like that toxic ex who comes back into your lives whenever she pleases lmfao HI.

"Hi," for a brief moment, I could swear I saw her cheeks turn pink. "Can we talk?" she asked nervously as she bit the edge of her lip.

For some reason, her voice was full of concern. I could tell what she wanted to talk about was pretty serious, and I wasn't sure I was in the right mind to do that. On the other hand, though, I was also curious to hear what she wanted to say to me. My stress was exposed with the breath I let out, but there she was, looking at me with pleading eyes.

"Where's Lauren?" was the first thing I could say, simply because Sam told me they came together but the green-eyed brunette was nowhere to be found.

Camila seemed a little upset to hear my question, but she quickly pulled herself together, trying to ignore any thoughts coming to her mind. Her connected eyebrows was just one of the things that gave her in.

"She's here, talking to some guys over there," she pointed with her head. Without hesitation, I turned to look at her. There she was, with her short black dress, stone necklace, hoop earrings and messy hair, looking beautiful as always. She was nodding with a smile on her face as some people talked to her. When her eyes shifted elsewhere, they accidentally met mine, and that's when her smile faded away. She raised her hand and moved her fingers softly, giving me a little wave.

"Let me just say hello to her and I'll be right back," I told Camila, hearing her mutter a 'sure'. Lauren seemed taken aback when she saw me approaching her.

"What are you doing?" I asked after pulling her aside. I really didn't understand why she only greeted me from a distance instead of coming beside us.

"No, what are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be talking to Camila?" she raised an eyebrow.

"I just- wait, how do you know about that?" she had an expression as if she was caught. She obviously talked to Camila about something. "You talked her into talking to me, didn't you?"

Not even bothering to protest, she just sighed. "Y/N."

"What did you tell her, Lauren?"

"Just to stop acting so stupid," she said while she looked at Camila briefly, "go and listen to what she has to say."

"I've no idea why you did this, but you really shouldn't have."

"Excuse me?" she said almost with a sarcastic tone, looking a little pissed. "Sorry for helping you get what you want, I fucking guess?"

"You perfectly know what I want, don't you Lauren?" I was also angry at her, but I was careful not to raise my voice at her. When our eyes were locked in each other's, someone approached us with a bottle of wine in his palm.

"Girls, should I-"

"Not now!" we both said strictly at the same time without looking away from each other. The guy left with an 'oop, bad timing'. Well duh.

"Well, Y/N, you clearly don't," she was holding back tears. It was the first time I saw her like this. The anger in her eyes didn't fade away, but I could see the tears waiting to fall down her cheeks. "So why don't you just go the fuck away, talk about this, and figure it out."

No matter what the argument was about, seeing her like that made me forget all about it. It didn't matter whether I was wrong or right anymore, what mattered was her tears. The sadness deep down her angry eyes. I made a move to approach and hug her, but she must have understood this since she took a step back. "Don't," she said closing her eyes for a brief moment. When her emerald eyes found mines again, they looked warmer than before. "Or else you'll lose the chance to talk to her tonight, she'll get jealous and leave. Just go and talk," she said with a sniff. "Don't make her wait anymore, go. I'll be here."
