Starling City
Apartment
Patrick walked through the hallways leading to his apartment. The last four years had been a blur. He and Yaz had started dating a few years ago and recently moved in together. A year before that, they had to leave Blaze and Spike on Nublar ever since the authorities found out about Mantah Corp island. It's been rough on the others. But now him and Yaz were in a great spot. They just graduated college and were now living together in Starling
Patrick pushed his front door open and saw his girlfriend Yaz on her laptop reading something.
"Hey, how was patrol?" Yaz asked.
"I left a little early," Patrick admitted, causing Yaz to raise an eyebrow. "What? I've been the Green Arrow for 3 years and college for four. Can't I have some time with my girlfriend?"
Yaz smiled.
"Fair enough," Yaz said. The couple leaned towards each other and began to kiss. Yaz pushed her laptop away from them as the kiss grew more intense.
Patrick picked up Yaz by her waist when suddenly the two heard a knock on the door causing them both to groan.
"I swear, if we get interrupted one more time," Yaz growled as Patrick set her down, equally annoyed.
He walked up to the door and opened it, shocked when he saw his aunt Claire. She was smiling nervously at him.
"Hey Patrick," she said as she turned to Yaz. "Hey Yasmina."
"Claire," Yaz said walking next to Patrick. "What brings you to Starling?"
Claire sighed.
"Can I buy you both beers? You two are old enough, right?" Claire asked.
"We don't drink," Patrick said.
"Oh. Well, can we talk?" Claire asked.
Yaz and Patrick looked at each other knowingly. Patrick nodded his head and Claire walked inside.
She sat at the table looking at Yaz's laptop. Yaz was reading an article going over the Mt. Sibo eruption.
"So... how are you and Owen?" Patrick asked as he and Yaz sat with her at the table.
"Oh... we broke up," Claire said.
"Why?" Yaz asked.
"That's... not why I'm here," Claire said.
"We know why you're here," Yaz said. "We got a call from that Mills guy."
"Rescue operation to save the dinos from an island about to explode," Patrick said, sipping some water. "What could go wrong?"
"I'm going," Claire revealed.
"Good for you. We're not going back to the place," Yaz said.
"So, you're just going to let the dinosaurs go extinct?" Claire asked.
"We're not going back to Nublar, Claire," Patrick growled, turning to Yaz. "We have too many bad memories."
Claire sighed.
"Spike and Blaze are alive," Claire revealed, causing Patrick and Yaz to roll their eyes.
"Jesus, Claire..." Patrick said.
"Spike was your best friend," Claire said. "And you both practically raised Blaze. Are you really just gonna let them die? You're both better than you think you are."
Patrick and Yaz looked at each other sadly, causing Claire to sigh.
"There's a charter flight leaving tomorrow. I just wanted to let you both know," Claire said, handing them two tickets. They both took them as Claire exited. The couple sat there for a second, thinking.
Timeskip
Patrick and Yaz sat on the couch, the tickets lying on the coffee table in front of them. The silence between them was heavy.
"Are we really considering this?" Patrick finally asked, breaking the silence.
Yaz sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I don't know. I mean, Spike and Blaze... we left them behind."
"We had no choice," Patrick said firmly. "The authorities were closing in, and Mantah Corp was about to be exposed. We couldn't stay."
"But they're still out there, Patrick. Alive. We can save them," Yaz said, her voice filled with a mix of hope and guilt.
Patrick shook his head. "And risk everything we've built here? Go back to Nublar? We spent a year trying to be free."
Yaz looked at him, her expression conflicted. "I know. Nut part of the reason we survived was because of Blaze and Spike."
Patrick stood up, pacing the room. "I get it, Yaz. I do. But what if it's a trap? What if we go back and something goes wrong? Again?"
Yaz smiled softly.
"We'll be okay. We survived that place once. We can do it again" Yaz said
Airport
Claire and her two coworkers, Zia and Franklin, stood outside the plane.
"Relax," Zia told Franklin. "You're more likely to die on a horse instead of a plane."
"No, I'm not, 'cause I won't get on a horse. My chances are zero," Franklin argued.
"Planes are the safest way to travel!" Zia yelled as Claire got on the plane. She gasped when she saw Yaz, Patrick, and Owen all sitting in the back.
"Owen, Patrick, Yaz," Claire said in shock as Zia and Franklin got on the plane, still bickering.
"We thought you'd never show up," Owen remarked.
"Oh, um, this is Zia," Claire said. Zia stuck out her hand, causing Owen to shake it.
"Nice to meet you," Yaz said as she shook the girl's hand. Claire pointed to Franklin.
"And this is Franklin," Claire said. The group watched him struggle with his seatbelt.
Yaz and Patrick both snickered.
"Were you and Ben Pincus separated at birth?" Patrick asked, causing Franklin to look up at him.
"You guys ever ride a 1,000-pound horse that's been abused all its life?" Franklin asked.
"I rode my motorcycle through the jungle with a pack of raptors," Owen remarked.
"I outran the Indominus's smaller and faster cousin," Yaz said.
"I fought a giant Carcharodontosaurus with a bow and some arrows," Patrick said.
Franklin stared at the trio in shock.
"We're not compatible," Franklin said as the plane's engine started.
It took off the runway and flew towards Isla Nublar.
