RUN! JUST RUN!

In an instance Hitoshi grabbed his phone with trembling hands, his fingers barely managing to swipe across the screen to find our dad's number. The sounds outside our door were getting worse, a mix of growls and scratching that sent chills down my spine. I clung to Hitoshi, backing away towards the window, my eyes wide with fear.

Me: Let's get out of here....

Hitoshi: Where?

We were both whispering while we were actually glued to the backwall right next to the window. Getting on the rooftop wouldn't be a solution for long.

Whatever was behind that door was also not dumb. I could feel it. Besides what about Eri? We couldn't let her be on her own!

Hitoshi had his phone to his ear and I was soo close to him that even I could listen to this converstaion but let's be honest, we both were shaking at this moment. Our instincts were so close to take over and we both would go fly before fight. That much was for sure.

Hitoshi (voice shaking): Dad... Dad, you need to come now. Something's happening, and it's not a dream. It's real. Please, hurry.

I could hear Aizawa's voice on the other end. He sounded confused but definitely not ignoring the urgency since we both were shaking and Hitoshi's voice was barely hearable but shaking quite a lot.

Aizawa: Hitoshi, stay calm. Tell me what's happening.

Hitoshi: There's something outside. It followed us from the dream. It's... it's trying to get in!

I knew this wouldn't make sense to anyone but hey, that was kinda the truth....

It was Eri.... but it was also not her... .so how in the world would you actually tell this to someone?

The door started to shake violently, each bang louder than the last. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my breath coming in short, panicked gasps. Hitoshi's grip on the phone tightened as he tried to keep his voice steady. He was by no means doing better than me. I think I could even hear his heart beat.

Hitoshi: Dad, we're in Izuku's room. Please, hurry!

Aizawa: SCREW THIS MISSION!! I'm on my way. Stay away from the door and keep talking to me.

The phone call didn't do much to soothe our nerves, but it was a lifeline for sure. Just knowing that help would arrive soon was enough right now. I didn't know what to do. None of us would be any help with how terrifying the sounds were. That thing was not a human being right now.

The banging on the door grew more intense, and I could see the wood splintering under the force.

Me: KYAAA!!!! Hitoshi, we need to move. Now!!!

I pulled him towards the window, glancing back at the door that seemed ready to give way at any moment. The air felt thick, almost suffocating, and the darkness outside the window seemed to press in on us. I hated this feeling of being trapped but what else were we supposed to do right now?

Hitoshi: What if we can't get out?

Me: We have to try. Staying here is not an option.

The window was our only escape route. I fumbled with the latch, my hands shaking so much that it took several tries to get it open. Just as the window slid up, the door burst open with a deafening crash. The creature from the dream, the one with red eyes and that terrifying smile, was standing there, its presence more menacing than ever.

Hitoshi: Izu, go!

I pushed him towards the window, barely able to tear my eyes away from the monster. It took a step forward, its claws scraping against the floor, the sound like nails on a chalkboard.

I shifted and Hitoshi grabbed me climbe out first leaving everything behind. There was no first, no second person. We wouldn't even have the time for that. The moment one was out, the other one would be trapped inside with that thing. It was a death sentence for sure.

The cold night air hitting us like a slap in the face. We scrambled down the side of the house, the rough brick scraping against his hands as Hitoshi descended. The creature didn't follow us out the window, but its growls echoed in our ears, a reminder that it was still there, still hunting us. I think it was waiting and watching. There was no other possible explaination. Why shouldn't it come out the window?

As soon as we hit the ground, we ran. I started leading the way in my fox form since I knew the streets a bit better. This wasn't my district but I knew how to get into the slumbs and then just dip down and vanish. It was something I needed to know since I used to be a bit of a thief after all.

The night was dark, and the only light came from the distant streetlamps, casting eerie shadows on the ground. We didn't stop running at all. I don't care how much we ran. I could feel it behind us. I could feel eyes watching us. That was the only reason why I didn't looked back, nor stopped runing.

It's there...

It's toying with us....
