FIVE WEEKS LATER
⸻ A 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃. The second years finally arrived back, we've been training almost everyday. A fair amount of times through the weeks I would attend missions, whether alone or with someone else. Satoru bought me my first weapon, even customizing the blade and holster. It now sits right below my thigh, strapped to my body for easy access. He promised to get me one once I started becoming stronger, and completed three missions by myself.
Due to how busy the sorcerer life was, the days seemed to blend together.
Wake up, train, battle, exorcise, sleep, repeat
Over and over again, it was really starting to take a toll on my mental health, but I pushed myself to work past it. I needed to become stronger, I wanted to be the strongest. I didn't want to be known as Satoru Gojo's baby sister, I wanted to be known as Kyoka Gojo the sister of Satoru Gojo. I wanted to be at par with my brother, exceed his level of talent. I refused to be called weak. If I was going to be forced into this life, I was damn sure going to strive to be the best amongst them all.
10:35 AM
We all gathered around the courtyard. I tapped my foot against the concrete floor, becoming annoyed while waiting for my brother. He was late, per usual. I messed with my fingernails, I was proud of how long they were becoming. I could never achieve long natural nails. Mine always brittle and breaking off.
After what seemed like months, my brother came walking down the pathway. His hands in his pockets and a smug expression on his face. I immediately knew he had something tucked up his sleeve. Damnit.
Everyone watched the man carefully as he approached us. All on edge, waiting for what he was about to announce. "Good morning my wonderful student!" Satoru smiled.
No one said a word, everyone fed up with waiting for what we were doing with the day. My brother furrowed his brows at everyone's reaction, clearly disappointed.
"Jeez, cheer up a bit, yeah?" Satoru widened his eyes, biting the inside of his cheek before letting out a breath and unraveling his hands from his pockets. "Anywho, today you will all be going on solo missions. Now, if you do well, you could be up for promotion, so remember that while fighting. Please try to resist calling for backup and try to push your limits to better yourself. I know each of you got this in you. So goodluck!" My brother finished his pep-talk with a bright smile on his face.
My mission wasn't for another couple of hours, so I decided to hang out with Maki in the mean time. She did well with working with cursed tools, so I always appreciated her help. She was also the only other girl amongst our school, so we easily stuck beside one another.
