When Frankie showed up to karate the weekend after Miguel fought Kyler and his friends, Frankie was shocked to see the dojo packed with kids wanting to join. She walked out of the back room where her and Aisha had to change into their gis and immediately heard Demetri's voice.
"Why did I let you talk me into this? This goes against everything I stand for. It's like extra gym class for no reason."
Frankie looked around the dojo, searching for the boy before her eyes landed on him standing with Eli on her left. Frankie licked her teeth, remembering how snappy the boy was towards her the last time they spoke and she started to walk towards them, her shoulders back and her head held high.
"Let's just give it a chance. You saw the fight. Miguel kicked ass." Eli said just as Frankie walked up to the two of them, a small smile on her face.
Demetri turned his head when he felt someone start to walk towards him and he immediately rolled his eyes when he saw Frankie.
"What are you doing here?" He spat and Frankie just smiled, almost taunting him. "I'm a student here." She answered proudly, raising her head a little higher and flipping her hair behind her shoulders.
Demetri looked the girl up and down, taking in her gi a that only she, Miguel, and Aisha wore. "Since when?" He asked
"Since last week." Frankie said before she smirked. "Sensei says I'm doing really well."
Demetri rolled his eyes, a small huff of annoyance leaving his lips. "Figures." He muttered under his breath and Frankie's smile grew. She leaned a little closer to the boy, tilting her head so her ear was closer to him.
"I'm sorry. What was that?" She asked, raising her hand to her ear. Before Demetri could say some sort of insult, Johnny walked out from his office
"Quiet!" He yelled, making everyone in the dojo jump. Frankie immediately left Demetri and Eli, running to spot at the front of the room next to Aisha.
"Face front!" Johnny yelled and Frankie could hear all the kids shuffle behind her to face Johnny. The man started to walk through the crowd of kids.
After examining the students, sending a couple insults to them here and there, Johnny walked back up to the front of the room. "When I look around this dojo, I don't see Cobra Kai material. I see losers. I see nerds. I see a fat kid with a funny hat with his tits popping out." He said, singling out students by pointing at them.
Frankie frowned a little, still getting used to the man's lack of filter.
"But my short time as a sensei, I've also seen some miracles. So maybe there's some hope for you yet." Johnny said and Frankie smiled.
"First, I need to see where you're at. So everybody, fall in!" Johnny yelled and Frankie turned around when she didn't hear anyone move around behind her. Everyone stayed put, looking at Johnny with scrunched faces and furrowed eyebrows.
