YOU SAT AT YOUR DESK, skimming through your textbooks for the upcoming midterms. the information flowed effortlessly into your mind, each concept quickly absorbed and understood.

you were confident that you could ace these exams without breaking a sweat, but you still went through the studying. it was more about the discipline than the need to learn.

just as you turned a page, a knock echoed through your room. you barely looked up from your book. "come in." you called out, your tone indifferent.

one of the maids entered, her head slightly bowed as she approached. "you have a visitor, ma'am." she informed you.

you raised an eyebrow, slightly annoyed at the interruption. closing your textbook with a soft thud, you stood up and headed down the stairs, your curiosity piqued.

who would be dropping by unannounced?

heaving a sigh, you reached the bottom of the staircase, and there he was — a familiar blond standing casually in the foyer, wearing that signature smirk of his. Michael Kaiser.

"Michael," you greeted him. "what are you doing here? don't you have football practice with my brother?"

Kaiser's smirk widened, a hint of mischief gleaming in his eyes. "something came up, which canceled the training," he replied casually, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

"and i know your brother won't be back until later, so i thought i'd take this opportunity to ask you out on an official date."

your response was immediate and blunt. "no."

he chuckled softly, clearly unfazed by your rejection. "you're studying for your midterms, right?" he guessed, his tone laced with amusement.

you nodded, your arms crossing defensively. "yes, because unlike you, i actually care about my academic performance."
