I felt my face grow red. It could be from the alcohol or the fact that Maverick is staring at me like some horny bitch.

I looked away and broke the eye contact. I felt my head spinning. Now is not the time for petty teen romance!

"I need to get homeee!" I blurred out and rubbed my forehead. God it's pounding!

Maverick cleared his throat and immediately stood up and brushed himself off. He looked down at me and nodded.

"Right right" He offered me his hand to help me get up and I accepted it.
When I fully stood up, I felt extremely dizzy. I fell into Mavericks chest and he caught me with a grunt.

Next thing I know. I am on Mavericks back. And he's waking me home.

When we arrived in front of my house, he slowly let me down and helped me up my porch.

I drunkenly patted his shoulder and nodded. "Maverick. You are. A GREAT man!" I really emphasized the great.

Why?

I DONT KNOW!

He looked down at me and chuckled and smirked. "Thanks I guess?" He awkwardly rubbed his neck.

He does that a lot around me. I wonder why?
"Welp. Goodnight Maverick Allen!"

I said and then I saluted him when he stepped off my porch. He laughed and saluted back.
I smiled and walked into my empty house.

My parents are gone for the weekend and my brother is at his girlfriend's house.
Therefore I am alone.

Great.

Monday at school

Kaleb and Sophia are basically like little thirteen year old girls when their boyfriends give them a peck on the cheek

"What happened!" Sophia asked enthusiastically. "Did something happen?" Kaleb also added in the same tone.

I closed my locker and sighed. I turned my body and leaned back on my locker.

They are the death of me. But my best friends! "We went to a party together then he took me home because I was really drunk and that's what I know! But it was just casual!"

I shrugged annoyed and looked at them. They both looked sad and defeated. God they really wanted something to happen between me and Maverick?!"

"You guys are so just." I stopped and tried looking for the word to describe them best. "Awesome?" Sophia smiled and suggested. "Enthusiastic ?" Kaleb also suggested.

I smiled and put a hand on each of their shoulders. "annoying!" I said joyfully and I immediately went back to my normal face and started walking to class.

Sophia laughed as Kaleb tried defending himself. But I wasn't paying attention when I saw Maverick across the hallway with his friends.

The same ones from the party. Maverick stopped talking when he saw me. We awkwardly stared at each other from across the hallway until I turned the corner to my class.

"Well that didn't seem very casual to me." I heard Sophia begin to chuckle a long with Kaleb

I ignored her comment and sat in our spot in the classroom.

Everything IS casual. We're just two boys beginning to be friends. It's always awkward at first and they're blowing it out of proportion!

Later that week on a Friday night

This week has been. Strange? Weird? I don't even fucking know!

Me and Maverick have been texting and saying hi at school. He's so confident over text and funny but when it comes to seeing him in the hallways he's just so.
