chapter eight

It has officially been two and a half months since me and Mason broke up!
Him and fucking Allison are going strong and I. Well.

Ok let me just explain.

Me and Maverick have been hanging out like. A LOT recently and Sophia and Kaleb swear we have a thing for each other.

And I'm starting to think they're right because Maverick has been getting. Weird.

He acts shy and soft around me and he hugs me bye? And the hugs have been getting more and more awkward!

And I've noticed when we make eye contact at school he immediately blushes and looks away?

It's clear as day we aren't just friends at this point and it's making me think I want more!

I'm not gonna lie I have developed feelings for Maverick!

And tonight is a beautiful October night. And guess what day it is? Halloween! My favorite holiday!

Not for the costumes but because the party!

And all days above tenth are invited! And Sophia and Kaleb snuck in every year but now we're actually able to go!

But it's different this year because Maverick asked me to go WITH HIM!

Sophia and Kaleb won't stop freaking out in the group chat. And it's making me more nervous!

It's 9:45 pm and Maverick is on his way to pick me up. I shouldn't be feeling this way about my FRIEND taking me to a party!

I forgot he can actually drive and doesn't have to walk everywhere like me.

He's only ten minutes away so I have to hurry!

I finally found a decent outfit and when I walked outside to wait for Maverick to pull up. He was just pulling up.

I took a deep breath and walked to his car and got in the passenger seat.

"Hey" I said trying my best not to sound like I wasn't just going through a whole panic!

He nodded and started to pull out and make our way to the party.

When we got to the party and got drinks, we started to look around for Kaleb and Sophia.

When we finally found them in a corner of what looked like a living room? They freaked out seeing me and Maverick together.

Oh god please don't say something dumb Sophia!

"Heyyy!" Sophia said and gave me a tight hug. I hugged her back and smiled.

She then looked up at Maverick and gave a smile.

Oh god. She's most definitely about to ask something so stupid!

"So Maverick. Are you gay?"
SOPHIA IM GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!

I nervously looked at Maverick. Because now I'm actually curious on to what he'll say. Is he secretly gay and just hiding it?
No there's no way!

Maverick nervously smiled and looked at me then back to Sophia. "I'm bisexual actually"
WHHHHAAAAAT!

Sophia and Kaleb high-fived and stood there shocked. So, he is into boys.

I shook all the thoughts out of my head and just continued talking and drinking with my three best friends! One of them happening to be my crush!

Around 1 am

I decided not to get too drunk tonight since I didn't wanna make a fool of myself again.

Maverick only drank soda and water since he's driving.
At least he's responsible.

As I was talking to Sophia and Kaleb, I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to see Maverick standing there looking all flustered.
Why?

"Are you ready to go home yet?"
He asked. Rubbing his neck nervously.

I could tell he was ready to go home so I should just say yes. "Yeah. Let me say bye to Sophia and Kaleb. I'll meet you in the car."

He nodded then exited the house.
He's acting so weird?

I turned back around and saw Kaleb and Sophia giggling. "What?"

They both stared at me trying to hold in laughter.

"Thank us on Monday!" Sophia said and bursted into laughter.
Seriously what did they do?

"Whatever bye" I said and then left the house.
They did something stupid I know it.

When I got into Mavericks car, he was sitting there looking all nervous.

I decided to ignore it all when he started to pull out of the driveway and started his way back towards my house. It was awkwardly silent.

Seriously what the hell is going on?

When he pulled up to my house. I sat in the car for about a minute. It was so awkward but I don't wanna say anything to make it more weird!

I got out of the car and made my way up my porch. Just as I was about to open the door to go inside, I heard Mavericks car door open then close.

When I turned around he was already on the porch Right in front of me. He stared down at me and I stared back up at him.

I could tell he was hesitating to do something. And then his face grew red. Which made mine grow red.

He then got closer and put his hands on my waist!

WHAT! IS HE ABOUT TO ACTUALLY KISS ME!!

My breathing grew faster and my heart started beating faster also.
Maverick Allen is about to KISS ME!

He leaned down, his lips now just so close.
His grip on my waist tightened as he then pulled me closer and began to kiss me.

I then moved my hands to the sides of his face and kissed him back.

I'm actually making out with Maverick on my porch! This is insane! I didn't think this is how my night would end!

As the kiss got more intense my front door swung open. Me and Maverick instantly broke apart and he stepped back rubbing his head awkwardly and I turned around to see my brother standing in the doorway.

He then looked at my bright red face and a very awkward Maverick leaning against the porch railing looking at the ground with a beat red face.

He then looked at me with wide eyes finally realizing. "Were you two just" I instantly covered his mouth and pushing into the house. Slamming the door behind me.

Leaving Maverick outside alone.
God I feel so bad but what else was I supposed to do!

I then walked into the kitchen and obviously my brother followed behind me! "Maverick. Fucking. Allen." My brother said chucking.

I turned around and leaned against the counter rubbing my face trying to stop blushing.

My own brother just caught me making out with his classmate on our porch! Fuck!

"So what. You two gay for each other? Are you gay?" He asked leaning on the counter across from me.
I looked up at him annoyed.

Why did he have to come outside and RUIN IT!

I sighed. "Well. I'm gay. He's bisexual and I don't know what's going on because that was our first time kissing and I think that was our way of saying we like each other?"

I sighed again and saw my brother looking shocked and confused. He opened his mouth to say something then stopped.

"I'm going to bed" I said leaning off of the counter and started walking up the stairs to my room.

I can't stop thinking of the kiss. We were so into it!

Are we gonna kiss again? Wait! Are we gonna date?
This is all so confusing!
