Chapter twelve

It's been four days since Maverick and I's date Saturday.
Mason texted me Sunday morning saying that he made sure that Nico and his friends wouldn't say anything about Maverick and I.

Which means he knows that I have someone new.
Good!

I want to get rid of him for good! He's a fucking loser!
And it's also good since Maverick is on the football team with them.

The last thing he needs is that sort of drama with the kids he's forced to work with.

I did end up blocking Masons number and fully deleting his contact from my phone. Yes, it hurt. But if I want things to work out with me and Maverick then it had to be done.

When I told Sophia and Kaleb what happened. I swear Sophia was about to go beat the fuck out of Nico herself!
Kaleb just, being the good friend he is, reassured me it'll be ok and that Maverick and I will have a better date next time.

It's now Wednesday and I'm laying down in my room, watching my favorite show.
Shameless.
Three episodes in, I got a message on my phone.

I picked my phone up from my nightstand and unlocked it.

Maverick

Wanna come over? We can watch a movie or something.

I smiled and blushed at the invitation.
Then my mind went to the last time I went over there.
OH MY GOD WHAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN!

What if I go over and I lose my virginity! TONIGHT!

Ok ok ok ok! Even if I do, I trust Maverick enough? Right! Yes right!

Alex

Sure! I'll be there in about forty minutes

I then turned my phone off and immediately rushed to put my shoes on. Just as I was about to leave the house. I heard my brother in the kitchen.

"Before you leave Alex, come here!"
I groaned and let go of the door handle. I then walked over to the kitchen and leaned on the island.

"What?"

I saw his girlfriend sitting down at the other end of the island, on her phone.

I converted my attention back over to my brother.

He sighed and walked towards me. Leaning down slightly to my ear. "Just use protection" He whispered and I felt him slip something in my pocket.
I backed away and I felt my face grow instantly red.

He then started laughing, that's when his girlfriend looked up from her phone curiously.

"Ew! Fuck off Ethan!" I said awkwardly.

I then left the house, and once I was on the side walk. I reached my hand into my pocket to feel what he put in.
He put a fucking condom in my pocket!

FUCKING ETHAN!

At Mavericks house

I FINALLY got to Mavericks. And now we're just in his room. I took my hoodie off and he turned on his tv, then sat on his bed.

He sat so his back was right against the headboard, he then turned on the Spider-man with Andrew Garfield.
I remember telling him, while we were just friends, that it's my favorite movie.

It made me sort of smile and grow a light shade of red. Barely noticeable.
"Are you gonna come sit down or stand there the whole time?" I heard Maverick ask sarcastically. He the let out a small laugh.

I looked over at him. His smile made me feel so warm and happy.
I smiled then climbed over top of him to get to the other side of him. Then sat down the same way he was.

He had one leg up and rested his arm on top of it. While I sat there awkwardly.
I sort of feel awful for wanting to cuddle so early. But it feels so right.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Maverick look at me and silently swallow.
I looked back at him. His beautiful brown eyes looking into mine. I couldn't help but blush.

He smiled and shook his head while turning back to the tv. Which made me giggle.
"Shut up." He said laughing then putting his arm around me and pulling me into him.

My smile disappeared and my face instantly grew a brighter red than before.
We watched the movie and laid there. Cuddling.

I couldn't help but think of Mason in this moment. Not because I still love him or anything! But because he never did this kind of stuff with me.

He never took me on dates. We did go out in public together, but he said they were hangouts with a "friend" so we didn't get caught.
He only held my hand or kissed me behind closed doors.

He wouldn't even cuddle me. And he would always forget things like my favorite color, movie, food, etc.

But Maverick. He's different and he's already showing how much better he is.
Even though our first date went horribly, he at least called it a date and not a friend thing.

And he cuddles me willingly. He kissed me willingly. And he remembered my favorite movie.

Most importantly. He's not immediately taking this sexually.
Ok I know about how last week we were in this same room about to have sex. Leave me alone!

But he's actually taking this slowly now. Mason wanted to do sexual things as soon as we confessed our feelings for each other.

Maverick actually makes me feel a happiness I didn't get to feel with Mason.
When Nico asked if I was his boyfriend. He didn't deny it. He just sighed and turned to me to make sure I was okay!

I feel awful for making out with Mason that night. I seriously do!
So I blocked him and I honestly don't plan on talking to him ever again.

Maverick honestly makes me feel better when I see him.
I've started to realize that love wasn't how Mason treated me or cheating on me.

It's how Maverick is calm and gentle and genuine with me.
I think I'm falling for Maverick Allen.

And it honestly doesn't bother me at all.
I'm okay with this, because I know he'll take care of me.

Writers note!

I will be writing more into this story soon, I just need to figure out what else to write.
I have a few ideas so I'm going to start writing chapter thirteen tomorrow, but I won't be releasing it yet.
