First person POV:

We went to get Kugisaki Nobara, another first year today.

.........I am traumatized (and scared of the children people breed nowadays).

Flashback:

*Sigh*

The girl took one look at us and sighed. I could almost hear her thoughts about how Megumi and I looked emo and Yuji and Satoru looked like they ate their boogers as a child (I wouldn't be surprised if they did).

She was honestly kind of bold. I'd never admit it but I liked that. She was a little similar to a certain green-haired second year and a scar-faced brunette I knew. She would blend right in.

After Satoru told them how they'd go exploring Tokyo today, they (Yuji and Nobara in particular) started jumping up and down excitedly. Yuji even jumped on the man to give him a bear hug.

I wonder if they'd like me like that too......

I called him out for his bullshitting abilities, obviously. But the kids were oblivious.

Well, they were until we reached the spot where they'd have their field test.

Flashback over.

Third person POV:

"You said Tokyo?!", Nobara screeched as she glared at her teacher. They were all standing in front of an abandoned building where the white-haired man had said they'd have their field test.

"This is Tokyo." he replied calmly.

Nobara yelled more about how he had toyed with country-folk. Soon, they were shoved inside the building with Yuji being handed a cursed tool.

The remaining three were sitting outside the building. Megumi was on a bench while the teachers were on the ground.

"Isn't this nostalgic?" Satoru spoke up, breaking the calm silence, reminiscing about the times they used to hang out as a family before Suguru died. [Name] has practically helped raise Megumi and Tsumiki before the girl fell into a coma.

"Ma! Gojo won't put me down!", the poor child screamed as he thrashed around in his adoptive father's grip. Satoru was holding him up by his collar and as Megumi's feet couldn't reach the ground as a six year old, he couldn't do anything but ask his mother figure's help.

"Woah! He's extra prickly today.", the silverette chuckled.

[Name] came in, agitated at the sight and smacked Gojo's head, having to tiptoe a little. "What're you doing? Put him down. You know he doesn't like that!"

Megumi sighed in relief at the sight of the woman. "But how can I become his father if I don't carry him for nine months?", that question threw both [Name] and Megumi off guard.

She smacked his head again. "Adoption doesn't work like that, dumb motherfuc--!!"

He chuckled. Oh, how he missed those days. They used to hang out together, eat together, play together, watch movies together and do everything together. Those days were unfortunately cut short after he got busier as a sorcerer, as did [Name], since that was around the time she'd been promoted to Special Grade after years of training.

The woman in question raised an eyebrow at him. "What're you laughing at?"

"Ah..... Nothing. Just the old days.", he smiled softly.

"I'm going in.", the ravenette spoke from beside them.

"No you're not." both the teachers said at the same time.

[Name] continued, "You don't need to worry about them, Megumi. If they're in danger, I'll save them. This is to test how crazy Nobara and Yuji can be. Killing curses is an awful job. Yuji probably never even hurt a fly in his life, and while Nobara may have exorcised some curses, city curses are different from countryside curses. They're stronger, smarter. This is to test if they're fit to study at Jujutsu High."

As if on cue, the window on the second floor shattered and the curse came flying out. Megumi jumped up, putting his hands together, ready to summon a Shikigami. [Name] pushed his hands down and told him to wait.

Just then, the curse burst, splattering purple blood everywhere and even on [Name]'s bandages, who stood protectively in front of Megumi. As the curse started dissolving, [Name] relaxed, turning to Satoru.

"Straw doll technique, you said?"

"Yup!" he grinned excitedly, exclaiming about how she was plenty crazy. Soon, the students came down. Satoru offered them lunch and they all skipped beside him, except for Megumi, who had ignored him previously and was now pouting about how he ignored the boy back, and [Name] who walked slowly beside the spikey-haired boy.
