This is based on another prompt that I love, and this one has Rick written all over it soooo,

"You look as beautiful as the day I lost you."

I hope you enjoy.

Rick Grimes wandered through the small community they had found. It was a place of relative peace, an oasis in the desert of their ongoing fight for survival. Though the world had crumbled around them, the group had managed to carve out a semblance of normalcy in this hidden enclave. As he walked past the houses and gardens, his mind wandered to thoughts of you, his lost love.

He remembered the day he had last seen you
vividly—vividly enough that the memory felt like it was etched into his very soul. The day had been bright, the world full of promise, but that all changed in an instant. Now, as he walked, he saw your face in the familiar corners of their new life.

The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the quiet streets. Rick's thoughts were interrupted by a familiar sound. He turned, and saw you, walking down the street towards him.

His heart skipped a beat.

You were just as he remembered, your hair still the same shade of h/c, it was h/l now, the same e/c eyes that always used to look at him with a certain shine that was only directed towards him. But new scars of different variations littered across your body, each one with a different, unique story he could only hope to hear. The world had changed around you.

He blinked, thinking he was imagining things. But there you were, eyes bright as ever, a soft smile playing on your lips.

"Rick?" You asked, your voice trembling with disbelief.

Rick's breath caught in his throat. "I—I don't know if I'm dreaming or if this is real." He trembled where he stood.

"It's real," you assured him, your eyes filling with tears. "I'm here, Rick."

He took a tentative step forward, then another, until he was right in front of you. The silence between you was thick. He reached out, touching your face as if to confirm that you were truly there.

"How?" He managed to ask, his voice right with emotion. "How did you find me?"

"I was with a group," you explained. "We've been travelling, searching for safety. I never stopped hoping I'd find you. And here you are."

Rick's eyes filled with tears, but he fought to keep them at bay. "You look as beautiful as the day I lost you."

A small, sad smile touched your lips. "And you've aged, but in the best way. I can see the pain in your eyes, but it hasn't changed how I feel about you."

Rick shook his head slightly, as if trying to clear it. "I never thought I'd see you again. I thought I'd lost you forever."

"I thought the same," you said softly. "But here we are."

The two of you stood there for a moment, just absorbing the reality of being reunited. Rick wanted to pull you into an embrace, but he was too afraid to move, afraid this moment was too fragile.

"You're so brave," he said finally. "You've survived through so much."

"And you," you replied, "you've led your group through so much. I've heard stories of what you've done, of how you've kept everyone in your group safe."

A faint, appreciative smile appeared on Rick's face. "I did what I had to. But seeing you here, it makes everything worth it."

You reached out and took his hand, the contact grounding both of you. "I'm so proud of you, Rick. You never gave up."

"And I never will," he said, squeezing your hand gently. "Not now that I've found you again."

You walked together, hand in hand, towards the central area of the community where the others were waiting. There were many questions, many stories to share, and much to catch up on. But for now, the simple joy of being reunited was enough.

"Do you remember the day we first met?" Rick asked, a nostalgic look in his eyes.

You laughed softly. "How could I forget? It was the start of everything."

"Yeah," Rick said, his gaze softening. "It was."

And as the night he fell and the stars began to twinkle above, Rick and you sat together surrounded by the warmth of the community you had found and the love that had been rekindled. The world outside might still be harsh and unforgiving, but in that moment, it felt like everything was going to be alright.

In the days that followed, Rick and you worked to integrate your lives once more, sharing stories and healing wounds. The community had become a place of hope, and with you by his side, Rick felt a renewed sense of purpose. Though the world was still a dangerous place, the bond between you two gave him strength and a renewed belief in the possibility of a better future.

And every day, Rick would look at you and remember those words, knowing that no matter how much time had passed, you would always be as beautiful as the day he lost you.
