It was almost midnight when the movie ended, and we all got out of the pool to get rest. Gracie threw a towel around my shoulder as soon as she saw me. "Looks like you got a little bitten tonight. Are you sure she isn't a tiger?" she whispered while snickering. I belatedly remembered Zee having to bite me to keep from being too loud, and then discreetly lifted the towel to look at my arm, where there were a pair of slightly bruised bite marks. Oops.
"Thanks," I whispered back. "Now behave and get ready for bed!" I already knew that she and Jashanna were never going to let me hear the end of it once the college girls headed back to campus. There was little doubt that they would take all the credit for whatever was happening between Zee and I, and I was okay with that. They were the ones that convinced Hollie to bring her down for the Halloween party, though I could certainly also blame them for Raquel and her bitchy comments.
We all made our way upstairs and everyone scattered to take care of their personal hygiene before bed. For me, that meant brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower to rinse off all the chlorine so I'd be clean for whatever Zee and I could get away with. I spritzed the tiniest bit of Channel on, and then dressed in some loose pajama pants and a short sleeve top that I made sure had enough fabric to covered up the bite marks.
I got some sheets, a quilt, and a pair of pillows from the linen closet and set them up on the couch so that Zee would have a place to sleep, though honestly, I expected her to be in my bed for a good part of the night. With that thought, I set my alarm for 7am, just in case she fell asleep in my bed, and she could move out to the couch at that point, and make it less obvious about what had been happening for the rest of the night.
I was almost done when Hollie, Gracie, and Jashanna appeared to give me goodnight hugs.
"Good night, mom," Hollie said around a yawn. "I missed all of this."
"Is Raquel all set upstairs?" I asked quickly.
Hollie nodded slowly. "I think she's already asleep. She did the driving today, so she's a little wiped out."
I gave her a wide smile, happy that Raquel wouldn't be wandering the house in the middle of the night. Only the little kitties would be doing that. "Perfect. I'll see you in the morning."
Jashanna and Gracie gave me a joint hug, and both of them were giggling conspiratorially as they did. "Have a good night, mom," Gracie whispered. "But don't be too loud!"
"Really!" Jashanna agreed. "But we're so happy for you!"
"How can you be happy already?" Yes, they saw the bite mark, but that was it, right?
"Come on, she's been looking at you since she got here!" Gracie replied. "She wants to call you mommy again." I really wish I hadn't mentioned that before!
"Yeah, she really wants you, and it isn't hard to see how you feel too." Jashanna was just as bold as Gracie, and I couldn't help but blush at the thoughts of what might be happening in my room soon.
"We're just going over her resumé tonight. I have to see if she is a good candidate for the internship position."
"And a bunch of other positions!" Gracie added, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Okay, enough. You two are too young to talk about that stuff," I said sternly.
"Oh, come on mom. It isn't like we ha..." Gracie was cut off when Jashanna's hand was placed over her mouth.
"We'll let you be, mom. Have a good night," the curly haired girl said with a smile.
I stifled a laugh at the pair, not wanting to know the details of what they'd been up to, but glad that at least they wouldn't be getting pregnant at their age. Not that I had been any better, I was 16 when I was first with a girl too. "Good night. I really do love you both so much. Thank you for being so sneaky." They each gave me a final hug and then went upstairs, Swiftie and Karma chasing along after them.
