"I don't want to feel like shit, but I can't help it.

He has really hurt me.

Saying he loves me, but then going ahead and kissing another girl?

How is that even a thing?

There is no excuse for it.

He made his bed, now he can lie in it.

Far, far away from me.

Dick head."

"You tell him, girl." Annie monotoned, making me look at her with confusion.

"Sorry.. I'm just a little more lenient than you. I think you are right to be angry, but I think he really regrets it. I could see the shame in his eyes when he looked at me.

'She's too important to me'

That's what he said.

You are important to him.

What else is important?

Air. Water. Food.." Annie ran on.

"You can't actually be serious? He practically cheated. Are you saying you'd let Chen off so easily if he did the same?" I quizzed her.

"Well.. That would all depend on his apology." She shrugged.

I can't believe Annie right now.

"I don't want to talk about him anymore. Shall we go out tonight?" I suggested, and Annie just looked at me confused.

"It's a Tuesday night, girl."

"Just a few hours wont hurt." I encouraged her, and she reluctantly agreed.

"I'm not dressing up. We can go straight after work." Annie rolled her eyes.

"Fine by me."

I watched Y/N and Annie walk in from break, and I couldn't help but feel excited that Y/N was coming to sit next to me again

I watched Y/N and Annie walk in from break, and I couldn't help but feel excited that Y/N was coming to sit next to me again.

Even though she is upset, just having her close to me feels right.

We need to get back on track.

I won't give up on us.

I drafted a plan for our case, which involves Y/N 'bumping into' the suspect at a local coffee shop near his house.

The whole 'I haven't seen you in a while' situation.

Then she will hopefully get close enough for him to spill some details on his extra curricula activities.

Sounds simple enough.

I emailed it to Y/N and I watched her quietly read the plan.

She didn't look at me, but then leaned in a little and began typing on her keyboard.

'Will I be safe?'

I looked at her as her reply came through, and even though I could just speak words, I needed to just suck it up and respect her communication boundaries.

'I'll make sure you are. Don't worry. I will have trackers and in-ears. I'll be watching you. (Not in a creepy way)'

I watched her again for her reaction and she cracked a small smile.

'If I die I will kill you.'

I smiled to myself after reading her reply, and then the Sergeant appeared next to me.

"Both of you, how's prep for this case? How soon will you be on the field?"

I looked af Y/N and she cleared her throat.

"It's going well. Seungmin's devised a plan. It turns out I know the suspect from a media course I did in college. We are going to utilize that as much as we can." Y/N smiled, and it felt so good to hear her voice after a day of silence from her.

"Hopefully we will be on it at the back end of this week.." I added with a smile.

"Sounds like you both have it under control. You make a good pairing.." The Sergeant complimented, and as he walked away he continued to speak.

"..I never thought I'd say that.."

I looked at Y/N with a coy smile after his words.

She looked at me with sadness.

It's fresh.

I get it.

Maybe tomorrow will be different.

I'll bring her in a coffee. That might get me in her good books even if for a moment.

I spun in my chair and looked at my computer screen.

"I was thinking we could start the field work on Thursday? Give ourselves a couple of days.." I suggested without looking at Y/N, and she leaned forward to type on her keyboard.

"Oh for gods sake, Y/N. Just respond to me. With your mouth." I turn and face her, moving to touch her leg, but she wafts my hand away with a frown.

I ignore her and instead pull her chair towards me, then using my legs to anker her down, forcing her to face me.

She shot an angry look back at me, trying to turn away without making it seem obvious to an outsider, but I grabbed her wrists to stop her fighting.

Her chest was pink in a prickly flush, and as my eyes drifted, she shook my hands to snap me out of the sudden thoughts I was having about her.

"You don't get to look at me like that anymore." She gave me a dirty look, but if anything it fed something in me.

An urge to change her mind.

"I know I am wrong for doing this, but you need to just speak to me like a normal person. We need to work together on this. We need to communicate.. Recent events put aside." I urged her, caressing her skin with my thumb despite the tight grip my fingers had of her wrist.

"Okay, okay. Thursday." She huffed, and I instantly released her from my grip.

She pulled herself back into her desk and leant her elbows on her squishy mouse pad, interlocking her knuckles and resting her chin on top.

"Stop looking at me, please." She quietly requested, and I smiled to myself before turning back to look at my screen.

She's being nicer than I thought she would, so maybe it's not so bad between us after all.

Her fight is pretty weak.
