'Please make arrangements to move desks so you are seated beside your new partner.
There will be a team talk at 15:05 which gives everyone the opportunity to go through their plans with their cases, and you can share ideas that may be valuable to other members of the division.'
"Just when I didn't think it could get any worse." I sighed in defeat after reading the email, and Annie also let out a deflated noise.
"I don't want to sit next to him and I don't want to be partners with him. Why does the universe hate me so much?!" I whinge at Annie, sulking while I start packing my things to relocate desks.
"I'm only over here if you need a break from him." She smiled weakly at me, and I just felt heavy with dread. I may need to get a transfer to another district if it's that bad.
I got everything packed, and then carried my box over to the empty space that was now next to Seungmin.
He wasn't at his desk, thankfully, but I was now waiting in anticipation for when he did turn up.
I connected my wireless mouse and keyboard, as I didn't like the sound of the buttons on the generic office ones, so I have my own cute puppy themed set instead.
I laid out my mouse mat wrist cushion that was shaped as a paw print as well, and I smiled to myself, admiring the desk aesthetic.
It's the little things.
I love my stationary at work, but now I'm feeling self-conscious about it. No doubt Seungmin will pick at it and tease me for it.
I logged into my emails and the internal database, and then I felt a presence behind me.
I froze in place.
Waiting for whatever he was going to do.
I then felt hands gently rest on my shoulders, and as much as it was a soft touch, I flinched as if it was an aggressive one.
He bends down so his mouth is near my ear, and his breath alone causes shivers to run down my spine.
"Chill out. We are gonna have some fun together, don't worry." He soothes, but it very much has an adverse effect. He could never be anything other than threatening in my book.
"I have a good plan for us, so you just need to follow my lead like a good little assistant." He cooed, moving outwards so we make eye contact.
I maintain our gaze, hoping to not seem completely flaky in his presence, and he drops his eyes to my lips.
That shameless act alone is enough for me to break contact, and he lets out a chuckle for my flustered reaction.
It hits 3pm and he encourages me to my feet, then picks up his note book with the plan for our case laid out ready to be presented.
