Excitement boiled in every first year's minds this day, two days after Lily's first potions class. It was their first flying lesson. Even better, Rose was back. St Mungo's has treated her for quite a while. Though a whisk of blue hair could still be sighted, she only needed to take a regular dose of a bluish liquid they gave her for the next week.

****************************************************

Lily, in her mind, was gliding and soaring through the air, on the broomstick. She, being the daughter of Harry Potter and Ginny Potter, was confident since both her parents were great Quidditch players. She was wondering if she would have good seeking skills or good scoring skills, or would she inherit both her parents' talents?

****************************************************

Steve trudged to the Quidditch pitch, ready for his first flying experience. Well, not really, since he had practiced many times in his head. But he was not going to tell anyone that. In fact, he was not going to show any strength at all in front of his classmates, knowing his fate, his identity, his power. He was determined not to. He could not do so. He would pretend not being able to fly like the others, instead of his secret ability to fly no matter if someone's jinxing the broom or not. He know he could do so, and he did know that it was because something inside him was special. And Lily was his biggest suspicion. She might be one of them. And he was one of them. But how many of this them existed?

**************************************************

The events were like a filmstrip, but not a fun one to watch. Lily stared at Steve, who was on his broomstick like everyone else. But the similarities stop there. He was flying uncontrollably due to a kick by the mean Cameron Wolf from Slytherin. Ending up landing in the mandrakes in Professor Sprout's greenhouses. Which was, as Lily recalled, where Rose was. She knew that Rose would not hesitate to state that the scream of mandrakes was deadly.

Then the plot twist of the "movie" starts here. Clearly the mandrakes have screamed, since Lily, so far away, could still hear a faint sound of screaming. But the amazing part was, Steve rushed out of the greenhouse and darted towards the Hospital Wing. He didn't look that healthy as he did before he fell in, but what surprised everyone was that he was here and running. Here and well. Even Cameron's sly grin dropped. Steve was alive. Perhaps he could be known as the first person known to survive the scream of the mandrakes.

"Lily! I dare you to join the Quidditch team! Or you aren't a Gryffindor!" James shouted into her ear suddenly, making her spew her half eaten dinner everywhere. Cedric and him gave each other a mischievous look.

"Not everybody has to join it. Aunt Hermione didn't, but she's also a true Gryffindor!"Lily rebutted.

"She's just not brave enough, it was the sorting hat's mistake." James giggled at whispered something to Cedric. Rose went pass and she was alerted, being herself as always.

"Not my mum, you brat!" Rose pointed her wand at both Cedric and James.

"You too, you're supposed to be at least trying out to go on the Quidditch team! Your mother too!" A suddenly appearing Scorpius Malfoy snickered. "Stupid Mudblood! Stupid offspring of a Mudblood!" But James did not seem to realise his mistake. He was grinning. Maybe, after all, it was not an insult but just a joke to him.

"Well now. Don't you see that I try my very best? I am born to be bad at sport. See here, everyone! Everyone knows that I want to change this!" Now everyone from the Gryffindor table was staring. "But I can't! I can't change it! And what did you call us? Mudbloods? STUPID HALFBLOOD, then! Take that!" Tears sprang to her eyes as her feet gathered pace, striking a stunning spell at Scorpius, now not smiling anymore before she took flight.

Rose ran. She turned the corner, and disappeared from everyone's sight. Sending Lily chasing after her, cursing James in her breath. Sure, Rose can be annoying, but this insult, to Lily, to Rose, and surely to Hermione, would be too much, even meant as a joke.

Lily was shocked to hear a slam. Never had she seen Rose like this, however paranoid she gets. She made a silent vow to herself that she would help Rose as much as she could. She turned back. To see James right there.

"So! Hello, halfblood! I propose this to you; if I join the Quidditch tryouts and manage to get in the team, you shall not call anyone Mu -- that insult again. And you shall stop insulting Rose, no matter how un-sporty she is. You shall never insult her again." Lily retorted with as much anger as she could,

"Sure, and I hope you don't get in. " Scorpius trotted off. "By the way, you are a halfblood too, in case you haven't noticed."

Lily was determined. She had to get in the team, no matter how much pressure she was having in her mind right now. She cared about Rose. True, sometimes it's - ah, not convenient to be with her, but other times... she was a good role model.

"Try your best, Lily. Try your best." She could hear - feel Rose speaking to her in her mind right now.

Rose was correct. She had to do it.
