I have always believed in soulmates so when I met Atsumu in a random cafe, I knew he was the one. His charm was like no other, so carefree, never listening to what other people thought of him, the opposite of my strict rule following personality. We had become better friends after an incident involving a drunken guy, he stepped in to help me.

"Hey! leave him be you drunk!" He grabbed the guys arm and pulled him off of me. "Get lost!" The guy stumbled away, leaving us alone after Atsumu pulled him off of me. He then turned all of his attention to me, taking my arm and inspecting it to see if I was hurt. "Are you ok? He didn't hurt you right?" He had genuinely concern in his voice and eyes.

I looked him in the eyes. "Yeah, I'm used to it. This area is notorious for drunken people." He gripped my arm a little. "Hey! that kinda hurts!" I winced in pain and he immediately let go. "I'm so sorry! That guy just pissed me off." He looked away from me dejected. "Thank you for saving me, it felt like you were my knight in shining armor." I laughed.

"Hey, let me treat you to something! To you know make up for this whole situation." He looked at me with hope in his eyes, I immediately accepted his offer. There was something about the way he looked at me with his soft eyes that made it so I couldn't turn him down. "What were you thinking?" I grabbed onto his arm and we walked in the opposite direction of the incident.

It had been a year since the drunken guy encounter and Atsumu and I have become really close. We frequently visit that same coffee shop we first met at together, we also come over to each other's houses every now and then. Most of the time it's to watch a movie that we've been wanting to see, but I don't mind.

He asked me over to his house again to watch another movie, it was the 3rd one this week. I don't get too engrossed in the movies that we watch I just enjoy the company of Atsumu being there. He's never made me feel awkward or uncomfortable in anyway. We were on his couch, his head was in my lap. This position was normal for us, Atsumu enjoyed lying down to watch the movie but his couch was too small for that without being crammed.

The movie was almost over when I caught Atsumu looking up at me. "What? Why are you looking at me?" I looked down to meet his eyes, a habit I subconsciously did whenever we were around each other. "Sorry Sakusa, you're just really pretty. I can't concentrate on the movie right now." His eyes were fixed on me, a blush creeping onto my face. "Where did that come from?" I broke the eye contact I maintained.

Atsumu lifted his head up off my lap, keeping his eyes on me as he sat up and turned towards me. "What is it? Is something wrong Atsumu?" He was acting a little weird fidgeting with his hands, not saying anything. "What ever it is you can tell me Atsumu." I took his had in mine, him intertwining them. "Sakusa." I looked at him, tighten my grip on his hand.

"Go ahead Atsumu, I'm listening." My full attention was focused on Atsumu, this wasn't normal behavior for him. "I like you." He finally broke eye contact with me, looking down at our hands. I lifted our hands bringing his up to my lips to kiss it. "That's what you were stressed about?" He look at me again surprised by my reaction. "You're not grossed out?" He raised an eyebrow at me coming in a little closer.

"No. I've liked you since the day we met. It always felt like something was pulling us together." Atsumu was taken aback by the confession. "You felt it too? I knew I wasn't going crazy!" We both started laughing, only stopping from running out of breath. "You know I really enjoy our time together Sakusa, you always light up a room." He came in even closer than he was before.

He stopped just before my lips to say "I'm glad we met each other Sakusa." I leaned in and stole the kiss from him. He backed away from me, a deadpan look on his face. "I was supposed to be the one to kiss you, not the other way around." He let go of my hand and turned away sulking.

I went in closer and hugged him from behind. "I'm sorry Atsumu, you were just to hard to resist you." He turned his head to look at me. "You think so?" I just smiled at him, we kissed again and continued to watch movies for the rest on the night.

I was lucky enough to find my soulmate, my ride or die, the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. If it wasn't for that red string, we would have never found each other.
