When Friday evening approaches, Tsukishima braces himself for impact. Hinata's 24th birthday could only mean one thing, and that's a large party filled with all of Hinata's friends, including Yamaguchi. Great. Just great. Tsukishima dreads the thought of seeing his ex-boyfriend so soon after he humiliated himself at the club, caused a scene, and probably embarrassed Yamaguchi in front of all his friends that Tsukishima doesn't know the names of. At least now his bruise has mostly faded, and the swelling has gone down; He feels absolutely no desire to explain himself with Yamaguchi standing in the room less than fifteen feet away from him. Sighing, he starts to pull on a navy button-up and dark jeans, carefully navigating the buttons through all the loops on his shirt. He checks the clock and shakes his head when he notices he has to leave right away. Breathe.

Tsukishima rolls up to Hinata's apartment, taking deep breaths as he climbs out of his car. He walks inside and strolls briskly to the elevator, lightly pressing the button to the top floor. The elevator slowly moves upward before finally stopping and chiming when the door opens. Tsukishima finds the door to the apartment and knocks three times, then steps back a bit while he waits for a response. The door swings open, and Hinata is standing behind it, a wide smile on his face. "Tsukishima!" he exclaims, "Come on in!"

He flashes Hinata a small smile and ducks inside. The apartment is dark with just some LED lights that give the room a rainbow glow. Music is playing from a speaker in the corner of the room; balloons and confetti littering the floor. "Wow," he says, "Extravagant."

Hinata laughs, "Yeah, Tobio set this up earlier today while I was out."

"And I did a pretty good job if I say so myself," Kageyama says, draping an arm around his boyfriend's shoulders. Hinata beams at him, wrapping an arm around his waist. Kageyama turns his attention to Tsukishima, smiling at him and nodding, "Tsukishima, long time no see."

"Nice to see you again, King," He responds. The couple talks to him for a few more minutes before they all wander off to mingle with the rest of the guests. Tsukishima looks around the room, saying hi to everyone he happens to run into. He starts to think that he is in the clear because he can't see Yamaguchi anywhere. But just as he starts to become hopeful, he spots him in the back corner of the room. And man, is he not prepared for what he sees. A white dress shirt hangs off of Yamaguchi, the top two or three buttons undone. He is wearing black dress pants with a belt that cinches in his perfect waist. Freckles are scattered across his tanned skin, making up constellations all over his face and neck. God, he's perfect. Yamaguchi is chatting to Yachi animatedly laughing and agreeing to whatever she's saying. Yachi responds eagerly, grabbing his shoulder enthusiastically. Tsukishima doesn't know why he feels his chest tighten at the sight of the blonde, resting her hand on Yamaguchi's shoulder, but he doesn't like this feeling.

He tries his best to navigate the room without stepping into his ex-boyfriend's field of vision, but his plan fails when he accidentally walks right into Yachi's line of sight instead. Her gaze falls on him, lighting up when she sees who he is, "Tsukishima-kun! Come join us!" She says, waving him over happily.

He smiles and waves back at Yachi, but he finds it hard to tear his eyes away from Yamaguchi. How could he when his first love is standing just a few feet away from him? He searches Yamaguchi's eyes for any sign of uncomfort or anger, but all he sees are those big, brown, earnest eyes. He flashes Tsukishima a small smile, which still makes him weak in the knees. He strolls over to the two of them and trying to act casual despite the quickening of his heartbeat. "Hey," he says to Yachi, "Good to see you."

She smiles brightly at him, "It's so good to see you too! I don't think I've seen you in person in like 5 years!"

The last time was right before me and Tadashi broke up..
