Sophie's pov
"You realize I'm going home Monday right?" I say Morgan's face drops. "Huh? What do you mean?" He asks his face filled with concern."Mama invited us both to that church event that you said you couldn't go to remember?" I ask. "Oh yeah, forgot about that" Morgan replies.
"I can't wait for mama's cornbread" I say excitedly. "Damn, I want mama's cornbread" morgan whines like a child. Haha.
"Then take your ass to Knoxville" I joke elbowing him. "I can't, i have a huge show" Morgan replies.

"He's always at it with the 'huge shows' he can't ever come visit us" Dad snapped. I sat my spoon down in my soup and quietly excused myself from the table. I made sure he knew I was angry.
"Honey! Wait!" My mom shouts. "Mom, please, this isn't about you" I reply packing my bags to leave.
"Don't even fight with her lesli! She's just gonna run out and get drunk!" The moment my dad yelled that I was fuming."Are you kidding? What's your problem! Your the most sorry excuse of dad I've ever met! When have you ever cared about me and Morgan? That's right never! Screw you dad, screw you" I yell as I run out the door.
My mom is crying at this point and I feel like an asshole. "Mama, I'm really sorry, you don't deserve this" I apologize giving her a tight hug.
I sling my bag in the back of my Jeep Cherokee and wave goodbye to my mom. "Call me when you get back I love you" My mom instructed.
"Love you too mama, me and Morgan will fly you out soon" I reassure as I drive off.
My eyes are clouded with tears as I call Morgan. I turn down the radio and start to talk. "Hey um, I'm coming home" my voice is cracking as I speak.
"What's wrong?" He asks concern in his voice. "Nothing, I'm just coming back" I hesitate. "Sophie, what's wrong?" He demands. I sniffle and stay silent.
"Sophie, I'm here, you know I'm gonna help" He spoke which calmed me down slightly. "Can we talk when I get back?" I ask.
"Of course, but let me stay on the phone so you don't fall asleep" He adds. Most of the ride was comfortable silence but when I got back I almost tripped trying to get to his bus door.
I burst into tears and practically fell onto him. Me and Morgan have a great relationship after all we've been through in our childhood. Morgan basically raised me since my dad was always out drinking and mama had to go find him.
"Let it out, it's ok" Morgan assures as I cry on his shoulder. "Y'know, if you talk about it it'll make you feel better" he suggests I sit up.
I explain everything to him and cry a whole lot more and I talked so fast I lost my breath. He gave me a glass of water and patted my shoulder.
"You did the right thing, you left, no more confrontation, good job" He said which made me feel a whole lot better.
"How are you so good at making me happy?" I laugh. "I know you to well I guess" He replies.
