I have been trying to think of a plotline for a week or so now, but I finally decided on one and I'm just gonna go with it. (D/n) = dragon name. (He's a Windstriker, just so you know.)

It all started when Ryker suggested you come with him on the next hunting mission.

"A dragon would be useful for scouting and helping fend off those dragon riders." Ryker stated calmly. Viggo wasn't having it. "She may be a fast learner, but Hiccup and his friends have been flying with those reptiles for years. She'll be no match." "I'm beginning to think you're questioning her loyalty over her skill." The big brother continued, "And I doubt she would take well to the notion." "I am not questioning her loyalty to me!" Viggo fumed, "I am merely concerned about the danger she will be putting herself into for a matter she has beforehand refused to be a part of." "Dragon hunting has always been dangerous, little brother. If she is to ever be truly safe from them, she needs to learn their ways." Viggo sat down.

You were eavesdropping from outside the tent, waiting to see how your boyfriend would take the news, and were a little surprised by Ryker's accusation. Did they really think you could be a turncoat or a spy? It hurt you to hear him say that. Ryker may not have been your favorite person, but you thought he respected you.

You walked slowly to the stable your dragon was resting in, mulling over your thoughts in a depressed silence. Ever since you had trained (D/n) a whole new world had opened up to you. The clouds were no longer untouchable bits of fluff beyond your reach, the sky no longer seemed to look down on you with pity during a stormy day. You felt more free than you had in your entire life. It was like you had a dreamy castle in the sky all to yourself.

Viggo was less enthusiastic about it, and (whether or not it was because it was fun to see his brother frustrated over it or if he really didn't mind), Ryker actually proved to be an ally in your endeavor to keep (D/n) on the island. You assumed your poor boyfriend was just jealous of the attention you were giving your dragon and promised him you were just trying to help the animal adjust to the new environment. He got over it eventually and everything seemed to go back to normal.

But did they really believe you would betray them? You felt a need to prove yourself trustworthy and useful to your tribe. How could they believe you otherwise?

The dragon riders still had the heirloom from the Grimborn brother's ancestor. Perhaps if you could get it back, they would rely on you for more important matters, and you could finally earn your place amongst the strongest and smartest of your people.

Your Windstriker was laying on his side, sleeping peacefully when you approached his stable, unaffected by the swirling thoughts that plagued your mind. "Come on (D/n), we need to go do something." You urged him up. He looked at you with sleepy eyes, getting to his feet in one swift motion so you could saddle him up. After you had adjusted the straps, you hopped on and veered him towards a nearby cliff. The fastest way to Dragons Edge was Northward through a strait well-known for its constant storms. But you were too in-depth with your thoughts to remember in that moment, and you carelessly flew off into the harbor wind current.

Only an hour into the trip and the winds picked up, neither of you noticing while you rambled on about what they had said to each other, (D/n) listening quietly, offering a grunt or throaty rumble occasionally. It wasn't until an immense gust of wind threw the two of you to one side before you realized a thunderstorm had started.

"Easy, (D/n). Keep steady." Your dragon gave a low whine. He was afraid.

The winds kept picking up and lightning cracked loudly terribly close to you. "It's all right," you whispered, "We'll be fine." Neither of you believed your words.

A lightning bolt flicked dangerously close as a deafening roar from the growing gale tossed you every which-way.

Suddenly, another air current knocked you off your saddle, and you started falling. Your screams were quiet against the rushing winds as you descended speedily towards the sea.

Viggo P.O.V.

You had disappeared, again; you and that dragon were almost always gone, off on some adventure. But something about this time was different. The air held the dark weight of fear, even before the storm had settled in.

Something was wrong.
