(Matilda's POV)
I stood between the great hall and watched how the men and maids made prepartions for the big wedding about to happen in this particular hall in a few days, there was so much to do, from the Chairs to the Lights and Food but I couldn't help but watch Tommen from a distance
He had grown up so fast, not sure it was right to feel this way but he was my favourite of the boy. Xander had grown up to be as wild as his grandsire, and Alex had grown to be too soft, some would call him sedate.
There was a sudden change of mood immediately I thought of Alex, loosing 2 sons in less than 3 years wasn't any Mothers dream, and now that Tommen was about to get married a part of me could already feel him get distant.
I continued supervising the decor for I couldnt let these maids with no taste decorate my sons wedding the halls alone, one of the maids passed me by as she tripped while she held set of pins letting it all around the place. I slowly began to feel irritated
"Now how does that make you feel?'' I asked her
She slowly put her head down in shame, one thing that vexed me more about these maids was they would make any noble look so bad for scolding them, as if I did not scold my own daughter too
''You know you coud have paid someone to do all these'' a masculine voice said
I knew Tommen's voice even if i were to be a dead queen on the morrow
The maid immediately excuses herself immediately Tommen interupts, as she procecced to pick up the pins from the floor

''Had to distract myself from everything that has happened, it all haunts me.'' I said
He took in my left palm, folding it in his warm palm
''He's somewhere out there, I know it.''
I knew he didn't know anything and he said all that to comfort me, nothing more
''Enough about Alex''
The maid picking up the pins pours away the nails again just as she was about to leave

''Leave, someone else will get that done''
''Pardon me your grace''
Tommen grabs a Chair from one of the other maids in the hall setting it for me to take a seat
''She's beautiful'' I add.
''The clumpsy one, I mean she is but..?'' Tommen asks as he lets out a laugh
''I mean Anne of Brighton''
why would i tell him a maid was beautiful, Tommen could be quite silly sometimes and it could be annoying for the people around at times
''Make her happy, she's a sweet one''
I didn't know Anne that much to claim that she was sweet or bitter but I remember the one time I was at Brighton 5 Springs ago and there was a trait they all had, kindness.
Even the Lady Brie had it in her although she seemed quite fierce one who knew her would know she was kind woman
''I will Mother''
***
I had so many unanswered questions during the past days since my mothers death, but the most important i wanted to know was who this Lady was and why she'd take a stranger like me in
I sat on a cold wooden chair as I looked through the window, asking myself all the questions, what really was the essence of life when you get to lose someone you've lived with and loved all your life
Moments after staring at the Sun go down like my spirit did, Alice came over to where I sat handing over a Book. Had barely seen books, they never really got to get my interest
''what is it for, you forget a small folk cannot read or do you wish to mock me'' I said
''And doesn't the small folk learn''
The only thing I wanted to learn at this particular point in my life were anwers to my questions which I was sure wouldn't be answered by learning alphabets or words . Couldn't imagine mourning my Mother while trying to learn how to read
''How does learning how to read help me with my mother and how does that answer the questions you keep ignoring''
''This isn't all about your Mother''
''why do you help me, what do you want''
I didn't get all these, Mother dies and some Lady wants me to learn how to read how to read, all for what, who even was this redhead?
***
She sure was as wild as her Mother, the girl was hungry for some answers and if I dared to tell her little, she'd want more answers, it wasnt time to tell her what she was or who is was.
''Look around this cottage with a quick glance, and you'd get the answers you starve for'' I said as I pulled the other wooden Chair closer to Morgan
Looking into her eyes made me feel more pity I had ever felt on my years on the surface of this dead Earth.
You could see Pain, confusion, she was loosing it but anger what one thing keeping her together as it seemed, all for the young Lady but I was performing my duty to the realm and my friend, her Mother. You could say the protectors of the Realm sending me to this particular daughter of my Friend was a coincidence but I never believed in coincidence neither did I believe in the realm, but duty is duty.
Morgan's eyes continue to follow the room as she looks around the interior hoping to find the answers of her questions, she finally stops when her eyes catches a pentagram
''It's no new news to you that i'm a Witch, is it?'' I said
''Morgan, there's more to life than bread and a dead Mother, there's so much in you I can't tell you yet till you figure out yourself and trust me you will only if you have the patience'' I added
''And makes you think I desire to live'' she added as she softly dropped the book on the table
''You haven't ended it yet, that says enough''
