"Kaseee! Kasey! Kase! Come on, we're going out for ice cream. Shit, you hate ice cream. Let's go get donuts! Yeah!" Ryan Castillo was overly excited for this one day, but Kasey... not so much. Today was the day that she would have to meet her brother's girlfriend, and to say she was nervous was an understatement. She didn't even know why she was nervous.
Kasey sighed and yelled down the stairs, "I'm freaking coming, calm down!"
Within seconds, she was down the stairs and sitting in the passenger seat of her brother's car, turning on the radio.
Kasey gasped and shut it off as the first beats of the Green Day song came on.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S WORTH FIGHTING FOR?" Luke shouted as he walked through the door of the Castillo residence.
Kasey's eyes lit up. "WHEN IT'S NOT WORTH DYING FOR?"
"DOES IT TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY?" He laughed, following his best friend to her room.
"DOES THE PAIN WEIGH OUT THE PRIDE?"
"AND YOU LOOK FOR A PLACE TO HIDE!"
"DID SOMEONE BREAK YOUR HEART INSIDE?"
"YOU'RE IN RUINS!"
And they finished together before a burst of laughter, "ONE, 21 GUNS!"
And suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes. She fought to keep them in. She didn't want Ryan to see her cry again. She wasn't weak, she could keep it in.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Depends on how you define okay."
