"Ivyfrost! Finally! I've missed you!" Silentsong purred as she bounded towards her sister, enveloping her in a warm, affectionate embrace. The familiar scent of the Tribe of Shattered Stones and the comforting presence of her sister provided Ivyfrost a temporary respite from her worries.

"I've missed you too, Silentsong," Ivyfrost murmured, pressing her nose into her sister's fur. "How's Darkclan?"

The joy in Silentsong's eyes dimmed as she pulled back slightly, her expression growing somber. "Ivyfrost... things aren't well here. Stormstar has lost a life to a sickness, and so have Frogtail, Dewclaw, and Foxkit. Many others are sick as well. Leafshine has named it Shiver, and it's spreading to all the clans."

Ivyfrost's heart sank, a chill settling in her chest. "Shiver... I had hoped things would improve. Was I sent on this quest to find a cure?"

Silentsong nodded, her eyes reflecting concern. "It's likely. We're struggling to manage the outbreak, and it's getting worse with each passing day."

A worried silence lingered between them before Silentsong spoke again. "But there's been some good news amidst all this. Squirrelkit, Bramblekit, and Dewkit have become apprentices. They're now Squirrelpaw, Bramblepaw, and Dewpaw. I'm mentoring Dewpaw, Oakstorm is mentoring Squirrelpaw, and Brookshine is taking Bramblepaw under her wing."

Ivyfrost's ears perked up. "I'm glad to hear some positive news. How are they adjusting?"

Silentsong's face brightened a little as she spoke of the apprentices. "They're excited and eager. Dewpaw is proving to be very capable under my guidance, and I'm sure the others are thriving as well."

Before they could continue, a voice called out from the entrance. "Silentsong! We need you!"

It was Oakstorm's voice. Silentsong turned to Ivyfrost with a hint of apology in her eyes. "I'd better go. Oakstorm needs my help with something. I'll see you later?"

"Of course," Ivyfrost replied, her gaze lingering on her sister as she hurried out to meet the handsome warrior. The two cats disappeared into the shadows of the cave entrance, leaving Ivyfrost alone.

Ivyfrost's dream shifted. Sorrel, the little kit she cared so much for, lay motionless on the cold stone floor. Her ginger fur, usually so vibrant and lively, looked dull and lifeless. Her small, broken tail lay sprawled beside her, a painful reminder of her vulnerability. The darkness seemed to press in from all sides, and Ivyfrost could only watch in helpless agony as Sorrel's bright blue eyes, once full of life, stared blankly into the void.

Ivyfrost's eyes flew open, her breath coming in sharp, frightened gasps. The nightmare had left her heart pounding with dread. Without a second thought, she leapt up and raced through the dimly lit cave towards the Nursery. Her paws moved swiftly over the cool stone floor, guided by the faint silver light of the moon seeping through cracks in the cavern walls.

In the Nursery, Ivyfrost found Sorrel curled up in a small, cozy nest made of soft moss and feathers. The kit's ginger fur was a patchwork of warm, vibrant hues, contrasting beautifully with the soft moss beneath her. Sorrel's tiny frame, though delicate, was irresistibly endearing. Her little nose twitched occasionally in her sleep, and her broken tail was wrapped carefully around her paws, giving her an even more vulnerable look.

Ivyfrost's heart ached with relief and affection as she approached the sleeping kit. She settled down gently beside Sorrel, careful not to startle her. She began to lick Sorrel's soft fur, her actions tender and reassuring.

Sorrel stirred, her bright blue eyes blinking open slowly. She looked up at Ivyfrost, her expression a mix of sleepiness and confusion. "Ivyfrost? What's wrong?"
