I just finished making my bed as I heard a knock on the door. "Coming", I shouted and hurried over. As expected, it was Soul. "We found a little bar right around the corner. Care to come along?", he asked. I looked into my room for the week. So far everything urgent was set up. "Give me five minutes", I answered. He nodded. "Let's meet at the entrance. Oh, and we'd take Keeho along if that's alright with you?" "Sure thing." "Do Gina and Jessy want to come too?" "They already left about twenty minutes ago. Seems like they already found something to go to." "Alright then. See you in five." "See you." I closed the door and walked back to my suitcase to change into clothes more fitting for going out.
As I walked around the corner I saw the guys already standing there, joking around. I smiled softly, happy that Keeho seemed to fit into the group so effortlessly. He seemed pretty genuine too. Jongseob found me and waved. "There you are! Took you long enough." "Sorry to keep you waiting, couldn't find my comb right away." "Don't worry about it. Let's go, shall we?", Keeho smiled and we set off.
Indeed the bar was only just around the corner. And we weren't the only ones from our excursion going there. I could spot a few familiar faces around. We found a table not yet taken and sat down, ordering some drinks and snacks to share. "So, you all have known each other for how long again?", Keeho wanted to know. "Well, Ro and I know each other since kindergarten", Soul explained, "But we only really became friends in elementary." "He had a trampoline and I was intrigued", I shrugged. "And then later on when she starting getting interested in baking, I always got to try her newest experiments", Soul laughed. "Remember the cherry-cinnamon-desaster?", I chuckled. "Oh that! You forgot the baking soda, didn't you?" "And then the cake was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside!" We grinned at each other. "We decided to cut it open and eat the somewhat baked parts only", Soul continued. "Good times", I giggled. "Definitely", my friend agreed.
"Good to know you didn't only bicker ever since", Jongseob teased us. "It must have come with you then", I thought out loud. "Haha." "We met him at the orientation week at university", Soul explained to Keeho, "And we simply clicked. Well, maybe music and dance compliment each other well enough to fit." Keeho didn't seem to understand, so I added: "Those are their majors." "I see. Who's doing what?" "Music's me", Jongseob answered. I lost focus for a second as I saw Jiung, Intak and Theo entering. Faster than I could look away, Jiung had seen me and waved over. I waved back shyly. Please don't come here. However, Keeho realized and turned around. "Hey, that's... Well, I only remember Theo." He smiled and gestured them to come over. "That is alright, ain't it? We still have space at our table." The other two looked at me. I shrugged. "Whatever", I mumbled.
"Hey there", Jiung greeted us happily and pointed to the empty chairs, "May we?" "Obviously", Keeho grinned. The three newcomers sat down and I smiled awkwardly. Luckily, Keeho started the conversation quickly enough and introduced himself. "We know each other, don't we?", he asked Theo. "I think we do. Haven't we talked at the orientation week for quite some time?" "Indeed! So, did you decide for majoring in music?" "Did do. Then I guess you're my senior?" Guess so." "Wait, Keeho, you're studying music as well?", Jongseob interrupted the two. The appointed one nodded. "Only a year above us", Theo informed him. Jiung nudged me while the conversation went on. "We seem a bit out of place with our majors, huh?", he started a new topic. I looked around. Three music majors, two dancers and us: film and science. I shrugged. "You'd be surprised how well we actually fit in here", I told him. He tilted his head. "How so?" "If you wanna make it big in music, you sadly can't only make music. You need outfits, astonishing videos, social media etc. That's where film fits in. You surely learn more about aesthetics than average. And science... Music and science don't exclude each other. They compliment each other if you know how. Ever wondered about how different frequencies make a person feel different emotions? Physics and biology. And a bit of psychology on the side. Think about keys in music and harmonies. Math. Effects in the music videos? Computer science if CG, chemistry if not. Easy."
I realized that it had grown silent at our table. "Interesting", Intak finally spoke up, "So, you are also interested in music?" "Used to be", I gave back and shrugged, my eyes only grazing Theo, "Not on a professional level at least." "I feel like this could be the start of a -very music focused- friendship", Keeho chuckled and looked around enthusiastically. Too enthusiastically for me to ruin it now, so I just smiled back, ignoring the fact that up until now I successfully avoided to be in the same group of friends as Theo.
