SANEMI POV
Sunlight streamed through the gap in the curtains, waking me up. I blinked, noticing that Giyuu was gone from the bed.
I got up and got dressed, then went downstairs. The smell of food hit me right away -
I headed towards the kitchen, but stopped short at the sight of him seated alone at the dining table, already eating.
"Oh? You're awake," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I was going to wait for you, but I'm really hungry."
"It looks good," I replied, taking a seat across from him.
"How was your sleep?" he asked, a playful smirk playing on his lips.
"Good…" I said, my voice laced with playful defiance.
"Yeah?" he chuckled, his eyes twinkling.
A sense of lightness filled me, a desire to stay with Giyuu. I decided right then and there that I wouldn't go home.
There was nothing waiting for me there anyway, and his parents were out. The thought of spending the day with him, just the two of us, filled me with a quiet joy.
"Hey, let's hang out with your friends tomorrow," Giyuu murmured, his voice a low, husky rumble.
"Since you're not planning to go home tomorrow," he added, a playful glint in his eyes. "I wanted to get to know your friend."
"Of course," I replied, a warm smile spreading across my face. "I'll tell them."
"Why not now? Or later?" I asked, my voice laced with playful curiosity.
He chuckled, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Uhm... yeah, let's hang out later," he said, his eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief.
________
I called them, and to my surprise, Obanai brought his "wife" along. They weren't married yet, but he said they were getting hitched next week. An arranged marriage.
"First the arcade!!" Masachika declared, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Arcade? I've never been there before, but that sounds fun!" Mitsuri exclaimed, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. Obanai simply stared at her, a stoic expression on his face.
"I've been there before, for fun... but it wasn't fun at all," Giyuu mumbled, his shoulders slumping.
"It's not fun without friends," I said, squeezing his hand. "So make sure you have fun with me." I gave him a playful smirk.
"Sanemi is no fun at all," Obanai chimed in, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Shut up," I retorted, glaring at him with a mix of amusement and empathy. "Let's go?" I asked, my eyes softening as I looked at Giyuu.
"He never informed us," Masachika said, a confused frown creasing his brow. Obanai mirrored his confusion, his expression unreadable.
We stepped into the bustling arcade, the air thick with the sounds of flashing lights and excited chatter. The first game we tackled was the basketball challenge.
"Come on, trying to impress that boy behind his back but can't even shoot these balls? Three strikes!" he declared with a mischievous grin.
"Let's play other games, this one's rigged," I retorted, refusing to accept defeat.
Giyuu, ever observant, pointed towards a claw machine overflowing with plush teddy bears. "Hey, that machine," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
