Author's note: Part 35/??

Nonsee watched the passing landscape through the car window. The forest gently changed into pastures and he finally saw something different from the trees. Pat's free hand rubbed soft circles on his tight, calming him down. The closer they get to the city the more nervous Non becomes. Nothing could prepare him for meeting his mother and grandmother.

"We are almost there." Pat pointed out. Nonsee whimpered in a slight protest. Maybe it wasn't too late to make a U-turn and disappear back into their love nest.

"It will be alright. Grandmother Chor is waiting for us." Pat smiled. Non nodded unsurely. The car drove in the remote street. Nonsee shifted uncomfortably in his seat, observing the villas hidden behind the fences and tall trees. The setting reminded him of his late home, bringing back the unpleasant memories.  Pat slowed down and parked in front of the house at the end of the street.

"I don't like it here," Nonsee whispered.

"It seems a bit uncomfortable, but you will be surprised later." Pat leaned closer and gave him a quick kiss. Nonsee sighed and pouted.

"Let's get out." Pat climbed out of the vehicle, but Non hesitated to leave. The door at his side opened and his handsome doctor waited for him to get out. With a soft grunt, Nonsee followed him out. The wooden gate separating them from the unknown villa moved. For some reason, Non felt even more nervous.

"My little Non!" The vaguely familiar voice cut the air and before Nonsee could react, he was enveloped in a tight hug. The man holding him as if his life depended on it, sobbed into his shoulder and strangely Nonsee didn't feel the urge to push him away.
