Medical checks

You always hated needles which you had always been very open about your fear and disliking of needles but for the teams yearly physicals you have to get your blood drawn and get shots before each season to keep the team healthy

But today was that dreaded day and you had to face your fear once again this time you've picked alessia to be by your side for the whole assessment

You are waiting anxiously outside the room

"Y/n breath you haven't even started and you are stressing already"alessia says gently grabbing your hand to pull you down to sit next to her on the bench while you wait

You sit down next to alessia still nervous as all get out for this assessment alessia rests her hand on your knee trying to calm your shaking leg

When the door opens Leah walks out smiling softly at you

"Hey y/n/n you'll be okay love lesi is with you once you are done we will all be waiting out here for you bug" Leah's says hugging you softly you melt into Leah's embrace she gives the best hugs

You nod and walk into the cold room seeing the two chairs at the other side of the room

You sit down and alessia sits down beside you soon after

The nurse turns to you

"Miss y/l/n how are you feeling today" the nurse asks nicely

"Nervous" you say blantely and alessia nudges you with her elbow

You turn and look at her shocked and she is giving you a very knowing look

The girls know when you feel scared or nervous you tend to get quite the attitude

"Well that's okay nothing to be nervous about just gonna make sure you are all healthy for this upcoming season" the nurse says smiling softly

First she checks your blood pressure tightening the arm band and squeezing the pump watching it get tighter and tighter before it starts to deflate

"Your blood pressure looks all good and healthy" she says taking it off of your arm

Typing into her computer right away you nervously look at alessia who was already looking at you with worrying eyes

She grabs your hand and holds it rubbing it softly with her thumb in a soothing way

"Okay miss y/l/n next up is getting your blood drawn we don't need too much only two viles so this should be pretty quick" the nurse says standing up grabbing the equipment she needs

The nurse puts her hand out for your arm so she can check for which arm has your best veins for the needle to go into

She decides on using your left arm to get your blood drawn

She ties a strap tightly about your elbow to get the blood flowing better so it's not a struggle to get blood

You are breathing heavily feeling the anxiety in your stomach

Alessia is still squeezing your hand

She puts the needle in and you suck in a breath it isn't hurting it's just a horrible thing you absolutely hate needles shots are the worst and hurt way worse than this

The thing about getting your blood drawn that you hate is how long the needle has to stay in your arm

Alessia let's go of your hand and is now rubbing your knee to try and get you to take some deep breaths

You closed your eyes and leaned your head back against the wall trying to stop yourself from hyperventilating

"Alright you did great with that let me just wrap your arm before we do the two shots you need" the nurse says

You are still trying to control home breathing

"Y/n/n hey look at me" alessia says softly

You open your eyes slowly turning to your right to look at alessia

"Just to shots and than you are done and we will go have a movie night with the girls okay you are doing so great I'm so so proud of you love" alessia says reassuringly

You smile softly

The nurse brings the two shots out on a tray and your stomach drops at the sight of it

"Hey hey don't look at them look at me I'm right here" alessia says grabbing both of your hands to turn your whole body towards her

The nurse squeezes your arm to try and stop your arm from tensing up making it hurt worse

You feel the burning sensation as the needle goes in to your arm and the stinging sensation as the vaccine is pushed into your arm

You suck in a breath squeezing alessias hands really tightly

"That's it squeeze me one more you've got this" alessia says proudly

The next shot goes by faster when you finally even your breathing again you have two bandages on your arm and a wrap on your elbow

When you walk out with alessias arm wrapped about you keeping you close you see Leah and the girls sitting there waiting for you just like she said

They all stand up Leah opens her arms and you run into her arms hugging her

"I don't ever want to do that again I hate the doctors office" you whine and the girls laugh around you rubbing your back reassuringly

"You did great kiddo" Caitlin says kissing your head lovingly

That night you all watched bend it like Beckham at Leah's all sprawled out on the couches cuddling together

You would have to go through this horrendous day once more next year
