It was in this way that Sunghoon delicately grasped the hand of Niki. The latter was mesmerized by a fine-tooth comb of every detail that surrounded him.

Sunghoon took him through the long corridors of rocks. They could be frighteningly tall, or sometimes as narrow as possible. They borrowed obviously the most cramped so as not to be noticed.

On the way, fish passed very close to them, not in the least concerned about their presence. Which greatly surprised the pirate, as he was used to seeing fish flee and apart from the water on the verge of death, it felt strange to contemplate them so closely.

He only had to reach out his hand to touch them. Even his eyes could.

When the two were hiding, checking that there was no one in the way, they couldn't help but laugh. Seeing the other on the lookout, each with a knot in their stomach from the fear of being caught in the act.

However, on their faces, nothing was displayed other than a loving smile, sometimes a little nervous.

Sunghoon always finished kissing him, blowing air to Niki. The latter, unable to speak any words, caressed the newt's scaled hip with his hand to thank him.

So they visited Sunghoon's room, which consisted of a fiery coral seat and a few shelves. Something to store his things. He then showed Niki his collection of shells, giving him each of their names, an indication of how rare they were and obviously how he had accidentally found them.

Niki felt Sunghoon proud of his collection, he went on monologue after monologue, to the great pleasure of the sailor who delighted in this honeyed voice. No matter what the two of them were talking about, there was always this teasing glint in their eyes, shining brightly, which easily conveyed the intoxicating throbbing excitement.

They didn't stay in Sunghoon's room forever, they were already heading to another place. Sunghoon was excited, eager to show the pirate his favorite spot.

"It is a surprise," He sang, already carrying his partner away.

Niki, not being able to respond anyway, took the mermaid's wrist and let himself be guided.

The path had been much shorter, much narrower but quick. The place was nothing special, there was only white rock. Niki seemed a little disappointed, and above all, didn't understand how such a common place could be Sunghoon's favorite.

How compared to everything he had seen so far, it was the most monotonous room that he liked the most ?

Sunghoon continued to climb, and Niki narrowed his eyes, unsure of what he was seeing. It was when Sunghoon lifted his head out of the water it confirmed that there was indeed an air bubble.

The sailor raised his head from the water, instinctively taking a deep gulp of air. He hadn't breathed on his own for over two hours already.

As if he was being born for the second time, he felt a burning sensation in his ribcage. The sea had never had so much of a maternal aspect as in that moment in his eyes. From this unpleasant tingling, he had the impression of being lectured, of being warned.

His own body made him understand the absurdity of his situation, as if his lungs were making him pay for taking so many risks. As if to remind him that he was human.

However, it was only in the presence of water that Niki was fully aware of it.

Probably why he loved the ocean so much. Because it constantly reminded him of who he was, where his place was and above all how fragile he could be in the face of the sea.
