Indeed, there was a beautiful mermaid in the water, not far from us.
She had light hair and it had faint blue highlights. Her cheeks were softly pink, and her eyes were an emerald green highlighted by a line of brown makeup under the eyes.
Her fish tail was a more grayish color, paler than Sunghoon's. Her highlights were warm colors, which contrasted with her cool palette.
What disturbed Niki wasn't so much these little details or the fact that she was staring at him with fear.
What hypnotized Niki was that her features were the same as Sunghoon's. Having observed it for a long time, he could not doubt it.
She was really his sister.
"So it's true." She said in a disappointed tone. As if her voice revealed she had just lost all form of hope.
Niki didn't understand, he heard her talking but he didn't understand a single word. For the simple reason that she spoke in a language that was unknown to him.
"You are crazy." She added.
"Why are you up Lyra ? It's late." Sunghoon ignored her, with a slightly firmer tone.
He was actually panicking. By seeing his sister, he understood where this was going to end. Even though he had suspected it, it took him by surprise.
Now completely aware of the terrible mistake he had just made.
"Father is looking for you." For Sunghoon, that sounds like a warning. "You weren't in your room, nor on Korálli plain, so I knew you would be here."
"Yes I'm here, so you can go now." Sunghoon replied evasively.
"Sunghoon" She called out to the young mermaid, "Why is there a human here with you ?"
The ashen man didn't respond, placing his violet eyes on Niki. The latter was lost, not understanding a single word they could say to each other.
The sailor saw a heartbreaking glow in his lavender irises. Niki guessed it must be because they were in a delicate situation and it could go wrong at any time if they handled it badly.
Sunghoon looked back at his sister, his eyes watering, yet he displayed a defensive stance towards the young pirate.
The blue-haired mermaid noticed the pendant attached to the human's neck. And it was enough for Lyra to understand.
"Oh Hoon..." She winced, a saddened expression appearing on her flawless face. "I came on my own. I'm glad I found you before our Father." She declared.
"Help us Lyra, please." Begged Niki.
He might not understand the words they used, but he was very good at understanding what a face was expressing.
He could see Lyra was not a bad person. Her aura showed an energy bursting with good wills.
And even though the mermaid looked at him suspiciously and angry. When she saw her brother's pleading look, she couldn't resist.
"I wasn't planning to denounce you." She said, almost upset that the two didn't trust her.
This time Niki understood, she had just adapted the language that Niki spoke. In a stronger accent than Sunghoon, but clearly understandable.
"There is a nearby exit, but you will fall right into the kelp field."
She clarified this because she knew how much Sunghoon hated this field. He had gotten lost and stuck there more than once when he was little, and his fear was always present.
