"Do you know the feeling?" She softly asked while laying her head on my lap.
"What feeling?" I asked.
She slowly raised her head from her comfort spot to gaze at me with a melancholy look.
"The feeling of nothing. The feeling that makes you feel like you don't want to wake up again and just....live in your dreams, or even your nightmares, because even those are much better than having to wake up to your mother shouting your name or your alarm waking you for work." She said while playing with a strand of her silky black hair before she sank her head back on my lap.
"What are you trying to imply?" I arched an eyebrow to show my confusion, but she wasn't looking at me now.
"I want you to make me sleep." She whispered quietly.
I thought for a moment
The moment felt like forever, yet I didn't understand what she meant.
"Do you want me to leave the room so you could get comfortable?" I asked while brushing her hair with my fingers.
"No, because then I wouldn't sleep forever, I want to sleep forever, then and only then will I dream of you and the things I like forever, without fearing to lose them." She said while sobbing.
She was trying to conceal her sobs, but it wasn't working as I could feel her shaking on my lap.
"But you don't have to dream of me, I am here, Always here I will never leave you, I promise." I calmly claimed.
"Please, just....save me one last time." She held my hand as she was pleading with me.
"Okay, I will."
I stayed by her side until she fell asleep.
Sara never woke up again.
I was attending her funeral instead of attending her wedding the next day.
Our wedding.
I forgive her for having cold feet, even though she promised me never to get one.
