Antonio and Michaela left the library, the weight of their discoveries pressing down on their minds. The sun had set, casting long shadows across the empty streets. They walked side by side, their conversation subdued as they processed the information from the book. "Do you feel like we're being watched?" Michaela asked, glancing over her shoulder.
Antonio nodded, his eyes scanning the darkened alleyways. "Yeah, I've felt it since we left the library." They quickened their pace, hurrying home under the cloak of darkness. As they reached Antonio's house, the feeling of being watched intensified. Antonio turned to Michaela, his voice low. "We should be careful. I don't think we're alone." Michaela glanced around nervously. "I'll text you when I get home. Be safe, Antonio." "You too," Antonio replied, watching her leave before stepping inside his own house. That night, Antonio struggled to sleep.
The shadows in his room seemed to shift and move, whispering threats he couldn't quite hear. As he lay in bed, he felt a sudden chill in the air. He sat up, his eyes widening in fear as Delirium materialized at the foot of his bed. "Antonio," Delirium's voice was a low hiss, dripping with menace. "Stop looking into Oniisa." Antonio's heart pounded in his chest. "Why should I? What are you so afraid of?" Delirium's eyes gleamed with malevolent intent. "You have no idea what you're dealing with. Oniisa is beyond your comprehension. Keep digging, and you will regret it." Antonio clenched his fists, his fear giving way to anger. "I won't stop. Not until I find out the truth." Delirium's form flickered, the shadows around it growing darker. "You've been warned. Your curiosity will be your downfall." With that, Delirium vanished, leaving Antonio trembling in his bed.
He knew he couldn't stop now, not with the stakes so high. But the fear lingered, a constant reminder of the darkness that threatened to consume him. The next morning, Antonio met Michaela at a nearby café. They sat by the window, sipping their coffees in silence. Both of them were on edge, the events of the previous night weighing heavily on their minds. "Michaela, there's something I need to tell you," Antonio said, his voice low and serious. Michaela looked up from her coffee, concern etched on her face. "What is it, Antonio?" Antonio took a deep breath. "I've been seeing something...someone. A figure that calls itself Delirium. It appears to me, usually at night, and it warned me to stop looking into Oniisa." Michaela's eyes widened in shock. "You've been seeing this...Delirium? Why didn't you tell me before?"
"I didn't want you to think I was losing it," Antonio admitted. "But it's real, Michaela. Last night, it appeared again and threatened me. It said we have no idea what we're dealing with." Michaela's concern deepened. "What exactly did it say?" "It said that Oniisa is beyond our comprehension and that if we keep digging, we'll regret it," Antonio replied, his voice trembling slightly. "It was so menacing, Michaela. I could feel the darkness radiating from it." Before Michaela could respond, she noticed a figure standing outside the café, watching them. The man was tall, with dark hair and piercing eyes. He seemed familiar, but Antonio couldn't place him. "Do you see that guy?" Antonio whispered to Michaela. "He's been following us since we left the library." Michaela glanced out the window, her expression turning to one of suspicion. "Who do you think he is?" "I don't know," Antonio replied. "But we need to be careful. He might be connected to all of this."
As they left the café, the man continued to follow them at a distance. Antonio and Michaela exchanged worried glances, knowing that their investigation had drawn the attention of something or someone...dangerous.
