Natalya's Point of View.
I walked up to he destroyed house as police and firemen rushed about, trying to find Tony. I whimpered at the sight. My heart felt like it was ready to burst. I walked into the ruins of the house and picked up one of the stray Iron Man helmets. A tear slowly dropped off my cheek and fell onto the helmet. I lifted the helmet and pressed my forehead against it. A beeping noise sounded. I pulled the helmet away and turned it to see a red light flashing. I put on the mask and the inside lit up.
"Stark Secure Server Retinal scan verified." Jarvis' voice sounded.
"Natalya, it's me." Tony's voice sounded. I smiled widely. "I've got a lot of apologies to make and not a lot of time, so first off. I'm so sorry I put you in harm's way. That was selfish and stupid and it won't happen again." He explained. "Also, it's Christmas time. The rabbit's too big. Done. Sorry. And I'm sorry in advance because...I can't come home yet," My smile dropped slightly. "I need to find this guy. You gotta stay safe. That's all I know. I just stole a poncho from a wooden Indian." I laughed near the end before pulling the helmet off. I decided it best to keep this to myself. I dropped the helmet before walking out of the rubble. I marched over to Maya and grabbed her arm before pulling her over to my car.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"To a motel, you've got some explaining to do!" I snapped.

Tony's point of view.
The door flew open, letting my suit to fall inside with a loud bang. I pulled him over to the couch and sat him on it. "Let's get you comfy." I said, adjusting his arm slightly. "You happy now?" I asked, turning his head and relaxing into the sofa. I sat there for a moment before deciding on getting to work. I sat at the desk and grabbed a pair of pliers before beginning to pull out the micro repeaters.
"Freeze!" A voice yelled. I looked up to the door to see a young boy, around twelve, standing there, aiming a potato gun at me. "Don't move." He warned.
"You got me." I said, raising my hands. "Nice potato gun. Barrel's a little long. Between that and the wide gauge, it's going to diminish your FPS.." He fired the gun, smash a glass. I sighed at him. "And now you're out of ammo." I stated, dropping my arms. He lowered his potato gun, slightly.
"What's that thing on your chest?" He asked.
"It's a electromagnet. You should know, you've got a box of them right here." I replied, pointing toh is box of electromagnets.
"What does it power?" He asked. I stood from the chair and turned the lamp to the suit. He gasoed and dropped his gun to the floor.
"Oh my God!" He exclaimed. He walked forward slightly.
"That's...That...Is that Iron Man?" He asked.
"Technically, I am." I said.
"Technically, you're dead." He retorted, handing me a newspaper.
"A valid point."I sighed, looking at the headline. 'Stark presumed dead.'
"What happened to him?" The boy asked, sitting on the sofa, and playing with my suit.
"Life. I built him. I take care of him. I'll fix him." I explained, throwing the news paper on the table.
"Like a mechanic." He smiled
"Yeah."
"If I was building Iron Man and War Machine,"
"It's Iron Patriot now." I corrected.
"That's way cooler!" The kid beamed. I frowned and shook my head.
"No, it's not." I snapped.
"Anyway, I would have added in the retro-"
"Retro-reflective panels?" I asked.
"To make him stealth mode." The boy explained.
"You want a stealth mode?"
"Cool, right?"
"That's actually a good idea. Maybe I'll build one." I contemplated. The boy then pulled the finger off my suit. "Not a good idea!" I exclaimed. "What are you doing? You're going to break his finger? He's in pain; he's been injured. Leave him alone." I snapped.
"Sorry." He mumbled, playing with the metal finger.
"Are you?" I asked. He looked up at me with an innocent look. "Don't worry about it; I'll fix it." I sighed. "So, uh, who's home?" I asked.
"Well, my mom already left for the diner and dad went to 7-11 to get scratchers. I guess he won 'cause that was six years ago." He said sadly. I hummed and nodded.
"Which happens, dads leave. No need to be a pussy about it." I shrugged, thinking about my dad. "Here's what I need: a laptop, a digital watch, a cell phone, The pneumatic actuator from your bazooka over there, a map of town, a big spring, and a tunafish sandwich." I explained.
"What's in it for me?" The boy asked.
"Salvation. What's his name?" I quickly asked.
"Who?"
"The kid that bullies you at school, what's his name?" I pushed.
"How'd you know that?" The kid asked.
"I got just the thing." I said, walking over to my suit and opening a small hatch on it before pulling out the small cylinder inside. I knelt down next to the sofa. "This is a pinyata for a cricket. I'm kidding; it's a very powerful weapon. Point it away from your face, press the button on top, It discourages bullying. Non-lethal, just to cover one's ass." I explained, showing him what to do. He went to take it but I pulled it back. "Deal? What'd you say?"
"Deal." He said, I placed the small device in his hand. "What's your name?" I asked.
"Harley, and your..."
"The mechanic. Tony." I said. Harley sat there for a moment. "You know what keeps going through my head? Where's my sandwich?" I smirked. In actuality though, I couldn't help but keep worrying about Nat, hoping she was okay, and that she knew I was alive.
