My eyes slowly fluttered open.

Laying flat on my warm bed my mind started to think about the previous events that just took place last night. Father and I have never had a good relationship. Truthfully I didn't know why. He treated me like I was a burden to him, just some kid who popped into his life and he never wanted me. Anger began to bubble inside of me as I thought about my father.

I really despised that man and the way he treated me. My anger was cut short when I heard a slight tapping noise on my window. Breaking my attention from my thoughts I sat up from bed and looked towards the window. Staring at me was a bird. An owl to be exact. Its beady orange like eyes bore straight through me as it continued to peck on my window. This bird had shown up plenty of times before, father but spikes on the outside window sill to try and keep it away, but clearly it wasn't working. The birds pecking at the window only grew louder and louder as he got impatient of waiting.

I huffed out a loud annoyed sigh and pushed myself up off the bed. Lazily picking up my feet I walked toward the window. Clicking each of the locks open slowly, I pushed the window up. "Go away" I spoke toward the creature. Instead of obeying and leaving the bird took a step closer. One foot placed outside and one placed in. Slowly taking steps back I swallowed hard. Not breaking eye contact with this bird as it inched closer and closer. My feet were suddenly stuck and my body froze. I was too scared to move and definitely too afraid to be attacked by this creature.

The owl took a small jump and flapped its wings toward my bed making a safe landing. The creature still looking at me bowed its head down toward me. I rose a brow in confusion and slowly stepped toward the creature. My feet barely picked up off the floor as I shuffled over. "Do you want me to pet you?" I mumbled as I slowly inched my hand toward the bird. Stroking my hand gently through the feathers the bird let out a few coo's of comfort. A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips. I had never pet a creature like this before, it was quite astonishing. "You are quite cool, sorry for shooting you out" I apologized as I rubbed its head. The bird pulled away from my hand and backed up slightly.

I pulled my hand away and looked at this creator as it hopped off of my bed and onto the ground. With each step the creature took there was a light tap along with it. I watched as the bird flapped its wings and glided out of the window. "Bye- I guess?" I spoke as confusion laced my tone. Quickly I was shut up as the owl flew back into my room. It flapped its wings at me, quickly bolting right towards me. Stumbling back from the quick movement I fell down on my bottom. The owl quickly flew down and dropped something then quickly flew off. I watched as the bird flew off into the bright sky. I regained my attention and stood to my feet. Looking down at what the owl had dropped. I saw a letter. I bent down and picked it up, while examining it. It was addressed to me, Kasseya Clark. I flipped the letter over, running my thumb over the crimson red seal.

I ripped the letter open and pulled the letter out. I skimmed my eyes through the brief letter as it revealed "I had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding?" I spoke with confusion. At the end it was signed by somebody named Minerva Mcgonagall. I laughed heartily at this junky piece of paper "what type of bloody joke is this?" I laughed. Swinging my door open with a smile tugged tightly at my lips I ran down the stairs holding the paper in one hand as the other glided down the railing. Stopping at the bottom step I spotted Aspen sitting down on the couch watching the telly. Not a single voice was spotted in the house . I swept my gaze over the house and didn't see anyone but Aspen.

I groaned loudly in annoyance as I saw my parents have left again, "Merlin! Did they really le-" I started to shout but was quickly cut off when a voice spoke. "Good Morning to you kas" My mother spoke elegantly. I turned my head in the direction of the voice and saw her standing in the kitchen with the daily paper in front of her. Father was seated at the table drinking tea with his glasses lying lazily on his nose. "Oh- Good Morning mum, father." I nodded tightly at them "What was it you were saying as you were walking down?" Mum said as she looked up at me with a smile pulled at her lips. A fake smile pulled at my lips as I looked at her.
