The next morning, I woke up to the soft light of dawn filtering through my window, grazing the warmth of the sun on my face. My heart raced with anticipation as I realized today was the day. I quickly got up, grabbed some clothes and walked into my bathroom quickly changing, and doing my morning routine. Walking back to my room trying to be as quiet as possible so I wouldn't wake Aspen.

Hagrid left a trunk for me to pack all my things in to bring with me. It looked quite big but when I started to pack it seemed as if the trunk shrunk. Jamming all my clothes and accessories in there I climbed onto the trunk sitting on it so the latches would finally click shut.

As I finished packing, Aspen stirred and sat up, rubbing his eyes. "You are really going, aren't you?" he asked sleepily.

My expression dropped, "do you need me to stay? If so i will" panic etched my tone

Aspen shook his head and smiled at me, "no kasseya, I want you to go. I promise."

I nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "Okay if you say so asp, I trust you. I will write to you all the time."

Aspen gave me a small, brave smile. "I am going to miss you kas" standing up from his mattress and walking over to me.

"I am going to miss you too," I said, hugging him. "Promise me you will stay safe asp" I hugged him tighter, closing my eyes as I embraced this hug.

"Yes kas, please don't worry about me i am going to be okay" he hugged me back matching my exact embrace.

I picked up my trunk and started to drag it out of my room, Aspen pushed the back of the trunk with me. As I dragged my trunk down the stairs I heard a slight mumbling of voices talking in the living room.

Curious, I paused at the bottom of the stairs, straining to catch snippets of the conversation. I recognized my parents voices, mixed with another, deeper voice who I'm guessing is Hagrid here to pick me up. Aspen tugged on my sleeve, urging me to keep moving, but my curiosity got the best of me.

I peeked around the corner and saw my mum talking to Hagrid. She had the look of desperation on her face, while father looked pissed. his arms crossed over his chest while he scolded Hagrid. The same dirty look he always gave me. My mother noticed me and pulled a small smile on her sad face.

"Kasseya, come in here," she called softly.

I hesitated, then stepped into the room, Aspen following close behind. Hagrids gaze shifted to me, and I felt all my nerves come back up into my throat.

"Good mornin!" he said in a deep calm voice. "Nice to see you Kasseya, Aspen" he nodded at the both of us. "I'm here to take yeh to Hogwarts!" he cheered.

I nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and slight excitement. "I'm ready, the trunk is packed." I kept a straight face, biting down on the inside of my cheek. He gave a nod of approval "very well! We just got to get yeh supplies from diagon alley!"

Hagrid looked down at his wrist "we better get goin if ya' want to be on time!"

My mother walked over to me, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and love. She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a warm, comforting embrace. I didn't hesitate to hug her back straight away, wrapping my arms around her and tucking my head into the crook of her neck. I could feel the strength and reassurance in her hug, as if she was trying to transfer all her courage and hope to me. She held me tightly, her grip firm yet gentle, and I felt a sense of safety wash over me, even amidst the uncertainty of the moment.

Pulling away from our hug and turning to Aspen. I hugged him tightly. Squeezing him as I hugged him, I know I should go to this school. If Aspen said he would be fine then I believed him. I would never let anyone hurt him. Ever.
