Making a dress is harder than it looks. First you have to pick out fabric and there were So many choices I could barely decide. There were so many fabrics; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, cheetah, pink, black, gray, silver, white, zebra, sparkles etc. Then, you have to decide the kind of dress you want, I chose a strapless dress that while skinny at the top, the bottom was loose. Kind of like a princess dress you would see in a fairy tale.
I picked a fabric that wasn’t one color but two. Green and blue, my two favorite colors, they changed in a way so that you weren’t really sure if it was green or blue or maybe a mixture of both. It was very pretty and I thought it would look flattering. Rose chose a purple dress, Belle a yellow and Rapunzel a pink one. Oddly, they all chose the same pattern as me which I didn’t mind but it was a tad weird. I finally convinced them to change something about the original dress pattern, like the length, the puffiness or the amount of sparkles. When I had talked with Snow earlier she told me she chose the same pattern only, blue and red. Anyways choosing the fabric patterns wasn’t the hard part. We had to get templates and cut the fabrics, one at a time. It was very tedious work but when it was finally done, it gave me more hope for a better future. I watched as Belle, Rose and Rapunzel cut out theirs, they took a while but eventually they finished.
Unfortunately, it was the end of the bell, meaning we had to go to our last class. Which, even worse, was math although I usually have a tolerance for math but I already have a project. Math means homework and homework is tiring enough. Especially with the project. The good news (if you can call it that) is Hayley is in all of my classes meaning I only have to do my homework then just copy my answers on to hers. Less work mentally, one of the many ways I dodged her evil ways. I stopped by my locker on my way to math, telling my friends to go on.
Rapunzel teased, “Don’t knock into any more cute guys in the hallway.”
I rolled my eyes and giggled as they walked away. I dumped my book in my locker and grabbed my calculator, which was mandatory for class. I looked into my small mirror and gave a small smile, so did the reflection. I was pretty in a way, if you liked blonde hair green eyes type thing but I didn’t believe in that. My mom always said, beauty on the inside counts twice as much as beauty on the outside and people who had a good heart would be seen as beautiful no matter what their appearance. I had decided when I met Hayley that she was pure ugly, because that’s how her heart was. I made the mistake of telling her and her mom gave me a spanking. I cried but only for a few moments, she hadn’t really hit me really hard just enough so I “learned my lesson”.
I shut my locker and turned to walk to math. I walked in, tripping over my feet. Luckily Hayley didn’t notice but when I saw why she didn’t notice, I blushed. She was flirting with Andrew, and from the looks of it he was flirting too. He saw me and tried to wave me over but Hayley gave me a death glare that sent a clear message: Stay away.
I turned, whipping my hair in my face so I could avoid looking at him when I sat down. Big mistake, Andrew decided to come over to say hi but Hayley beat him. She tripped me, making me twist my ankle. I fell to the ground letting my binder drop with me. There was agonizing pain in my ankle as I clutched it tight. Hot tears ran down my cheeks I heard Hayley say, “Look everyone, Ella can’t even walk on her own two feet, she’s such an idiot. Now she’s crying over her own mistake.” She looked at me and I got another clear message: This is what happens when you mess with the queen bee, you get stung. It was amazing how she got such good service in school, I thought trying to think about something other than the pain.
Someone kneeled beside me inspecting my ankle, then looked at my face. It was Andrew, he was checking to see if I was okay. I smiled to myself so he couldn’t see. He got an angry look on his face as he stood up and turned to Hayley who was still ranting about how I was a loser, “Hayley! Don’t you understand how serious this is? She twisted her ankle, and if we aren’t careful she could go into shock.” Wow what a wonderful thing to say in front of the person you don’t want to freak out, I thought to myself. He pointed to Rapunzel who was at my side, “You, can you go and ask Mr. Garey to call the nurse, please?”
