"Okay i'm back!" I chuckle finally being able to stabilize my phone on my piano for instagram live, "sorry guys i just had some technical difficulties!" I smile as i do a horrible British accent.

I swallow hard as i read the comments noticing my ring was no longer on, shaking my head I smile as a light knock on the door opens it slightly, only to revel my best friend.

"guys!!" I smile before grabbing her arm, "i have a special guess..." I laugh as i drumroll, "the ONE - the ONLY, OLIVIA MENDESSS" I cheer as she come infront of frame waving her hands at the live.

"Hiii munchkins" She smiles before reading all the comments, Olivia has been my bestfriend since the one day I did soccer camp—-

And when i say one day.

i meant one day.

She accidentally took my purple scrunchie and my little 7 year old self searched her down to get it back— only the end up letting her keep it because she didn't have one for herself.

It blossomed into a beautiful friendship.

"Addy where are you?" I read a comment as i look up at liv and shrugging, "LA!" I smile putting on a show for the audience.

It was clear to my fans that me and Brandon had ended our engagement after he cheated on me with a girl in Ohio on a night trip for the NHL— but it was never put public— and quite frankly i didn't want it to be.

The less the public knew— the less drama I had to deal with.

"When are you going to Iowa?" Liv read as I squealed spinning the chair around.

"TWO DAYS!!" I cheer making Liv chuckle as she continues to spin me, "and Livvy is coming too so maybeee..." I smile towards my best friend.

"I'm not getting on stage with you Addy!"

I frown towards the camera before my eyes get wide and i point out the newest viewer.

"No-" Liv laughs shaking her head, "that's when we end the live.." She looks at me with wide eyes.

"Alright! who wants to hear new songs!" I laugh awkwardly, and the comments start to realize who joined the live.

"Alright guys.." I chuckle, "this is grave... it's a work in progress so don't judge!" I smile completely ignoring the comments and they knew it too.

"OH THIS IS MY FAVORITE!" Liv chuckles as she sits behind me in camera view

"Liv they think you're in love with me!" I smile back at her as she shrugs.

"Who wouldn't —" She winks making me laugh before i turn back to my piano.

"KATE KATE KATE KATE!" I hear my bestfriend yell as i step off the escalator before putting my free hand infront of my face, slightly embarrassed as my cheeks turn red.

"Caitlin, sush!" I smile as she engulfs me in a tight bear hug, "what are you doing out here without security ma'am!" I whisper in the hug as she shakes her head.

"I haven't seen you in months — the first thing you could say to your best friend is, oh hi caitlin i missed you so much— your the best basketball player in the WNBA ever, I never want to guard you again.." She laughs as i push her shoulder away from me lightly.

"Alright— let's remember who beat who!" I smirk as she rolls her eyes before her hand reaches out to grab my backpack.

"how was the flight?"

"Bumpy, got some PR work done before I got here so i didn't have to worry much on break." I nod as we walk through the airport.

"You've been killing it did, i swear everywhere i go on social media your name pops up— i'm officially 'Kate Martins old teammate' now.." She jokes as she shrugs, "has a nice ring to it!" She winks making me shake my head.

"You'll always be Caitlin Clark dude don't even get me started— i swear every coach in pregames say 'watch out for 22' still.."

"How's it been? I swear we haven't talked in months."

"Cait— we facetime everyday."

"Martin, we went from sharing a home together to opposing sides of the WORLD!"

I laugh as we reach her car, "you sound like a sad long distance girlfriend."

"I AM!" She pouts as we load her car with my suitcase and backpack.

"No seriously though — you're fucking grinding! How's the ankle doing?"

"It's good.." I sigh as i look down at my legs, "a little weak but good— this break was definitely needed." I smile while getting into the passenger seat.

"Well i have so many plans for us! Bar— concert— bar!"

"Concert?"

"Kate remember?"

My heart began to race hoping she wasn't talking about what i thought — or in this case WHO.

"Autumn Callaway— she's going on tour and literally starting in Iowa— she went to our school apparently.. but i'm absolutely obsessed with her music— she just gives taylor and olivia vibes!"

"So you got us tickets?"

"No im going alone.." she says sarcastically while her eyes focus on the road ahead, "of course silly your coming with me and so is Jada! When do you ever turn concerts down? your like a concert junky!"

"Yeah..." i suck my teeth before looking out the window, "i-i guess i've just never heard her music before.." I chuckle softly.

Liar.

"Oh here!" Caitlin hands me her phone with her apple music pulled up, "her latest album is on there why don't you play it? Maybe by the concert you'll know some songs."

i already know the songs.

all of them.

"Oh yeah..." i clear my throat, "definitely..."

I nod before pressing on Hate Myself...

"fuck! this one's my favorite!"

if only she knew half of these songs..
