"Callawat.. yeah i know.." I groaned before taking the two shots infront of me.

"Hey that was mine—" "wait i thought you didn't know her?"

I clear my throat before turning towards Caitlin, "I don't know her now... we go back a few years.."

Caitlin hits my chest softly gasping, "that's something we don't forget to mention Kate!"

"It was years ago— when we were in highschool.." I shake my head as i raise my beer to my mouth before Caitlin grabs it.

"Alright just because we ran into the love of my life doesn't mean you get to chug your drink."

I glared towards her before chuckling slightly.

"Oh fuck—"

"She the love of YOUR life?"

"It's a long complicated story Cait."

"Has to be she looked like a deer in headlights when she saw you!"

"I mean we haven't seen each other in years since.." I chuckle as for years i've been trying to get the moment out of my head, "since she left me on the doorstep of her house with only a broken heart.."

"Fuck.." Caitlin hands me my drink back, "drink up."

I laugh shaking my head, "it's all said and done now.. i just think..." I shrug, "we left a lot of things on the table after we broke up.. Then i left for college, started my basketball career and i guess she—" I shrugged, "went off and began hers.."

"Was it bad?"

"What the relationship or the break up?"

"both?"

"I've never loved a girl more than i loved her.. and honestly i don't think i ever will... but we were young, things happen, people get scared of what could be." I shrug, "i guess she was just a stop to the person i'm suppose to be with"

"or right person wrong time?" Caitlin chuckles before sipping her drink.

"Alright romero relax!" I laugh shaking my head.

"can i ask.." Caitlin sighed as i look towards her.

"when you two were together— w-what was she like?"

I hummed as i smiled at the distant memory of her, "she — she was like a song..." I chuckle at the metaphor, "one you want to play over and over again.."

"You really loved her huh?"

I shake my head looking off to the distance of the bars far wall, "mhm"

Sweat dropped from my forehead as i dribble through dropping my shoulder before the balls knocked from my hands.

"HA! Gotcha!" Autumn giggled as I shake my head putting my hands on my hips.
