My body crashes against the debris-strewn floor, rolling uncontrollably until a pillar finally stops me. The impact is excruciating, a sharp, throbbing pain radiating through every part of me. I can feel the bruises forming even before I see them, a deep ache settling into my muscles and bones.

The floor beneath me is littered with shards of broken glass, twisted metal, and splintered wood.

I manage to prop myself up on one elbow, squinting through the haze of pain and smoke. From my precarious position on the floor, I can see Mike already on his feet, locked in a vicious struggle with his son, Armando. Their fight is brutal, each punch and kick exchanged with a lethal force that makes my heart pound in my chest.

I know I need to get up, but I take a moment to gather myself, forcing my body to respond despite the throbbing pain, my eyes never leaving the scene in front of me. Mike and Armando are going at it like their lives depend on it—and maybe they do.

I wipe at the blood trickling from my nose, my head still spinning from the fall.

Finally, I shake off the dizziness and get to my feet, steadying myself against the pillar.

The sound of their struggle echoes in the large, broken room, and I can see the intensity in Armando's eyes—pupils blown wide with rage. Now that I can see his face better, I notice how striking he is, even with his features twisted in anger and wounds marring his skin. His pupils are dilated, burning with rage, and his strong arms flex as he fights with a relentless intensity. Despite his good looks, none of that matters to me. He's the enemy, the one trying to tear my family apart.

Mike's mouth is moving rapidly, his expression is a mix of frustration and desperation. Though I can't make out the words over the cacophony of the environment, Armando's reaction is visceral, a surge of anger erupting from within him. His face contorts with rage as he responds to whatever Mike is saying. The intensity of his emotions is palpable, each word and gesture from Mike seems to stoke the flames of his fury.
