Armando matches my slow, uneven steps, guiding me as we move side by side through the place. But then, out of nowhere, a man lunges toward us. Without hesitation, Armando shoves me behind him, the force of the movement sending a dizzy spell through my head. I try to focus, trying to make my way to the exit, but another man suddenly blocks my path, a glinting knife in his hand.

My heart skips a beat as I stumble backward feeling too weak to fight, those stairs drained all my strength. But Armando is quicker, with a swift punch, he sends the man reeling away from me. Before we can even catch a breath, the attacker from before reappears, slashing a knife across Armando's cheek. Blood drips down his face, and for a split second, I see the pain flash in his eyes. But it's replaced just as quickly by a fierce anger. Armando retaliates with a brutal kick. Suddenly, the man who cornered me charges at us, with knife poised to strike.

Armando catches the blade—barely with his bare hands.

I can see the struggle in his eyes as he fights to keep the knife from plunging into his chest. I'm pinned down against his back, I can feel his muscles straining against the force of the blade. Then, with a quick glance at me, he orders, "Run."

I don't hesitate. I turn and dash toward the exit, but before I can get far, an arm wraps around my neck, yanking me back. The cold press of a knife against my skin. The man is trying to scare me, to immobilize me with fear, but instead, I act on instinct. I slam the back of my head into his face with all the force I can muster. He stumbles, disoriented, but the world spins around me too, I fall to my knees, the dizziness threatening to overwhelm me as the world spins violently around me, this time with much force than the previous ones.

My vision tunnels, the edges of my sight blurring into darkness, and I feel a cold sweat break out across my skin. My hands instinctively reach out to steady myself, but the ground beneath me feels unstable, as if it's shifting and undulating like the waves of an unseen ocean. My breath comes in short, shallow gasps, and I can feel my heart pounding erratically in my chest, each beat sending a wave of nausea through me.
