They tried to kill Armando.

In jail.

I can't say I'm shocked, he must have many enemies.

But apparently, it's because he can ID the person who has been framing Conrad, not about his enemies.

I overheard Dad's conversation with Mike on the phone.

Armando, despite being unharmed, is in significant danger. He could be targeted again at any moment, so he's being transferred to Miami for his safety.

Mike and Dad are clearly on edge.

But now, Dad's insistence on accompanying Mike to Miami is causing more trouble than ever. Despite the doctors' stern warnings and our numerous pleas for him to rest, he's determined to be part of the action. He's supposed to be taking it easy after his heart attack—taking time to recover and avoid any additional stress. Instead, he's pushing himself into even greater danger, ignoring the very advice meant to ensure his well-being.

I understand his drive to be involved. After all, this isn't just about the investigation; it's about justice for Captain Howard, a close friend who was unjustly accused. Dad's commitment to uncovering the truth is remarkable, and his desire to support Mike through this ordeal speaks to his loyalty and sense of duty. However, the reality is that he's putting himself at risk by involving himself in such a high-stress situation.

Mom and I have tried everything to persuade him otherwise. We've presented the facts, discussed the potential repercussions, and highlighted the severity of his recent health scare. We've talked about the need for him to prioritize his health over his urge to help, emphasizing how dangerous it could be for him to disregard medical advice. We've laid out the emotional and physical toll it could take on him, hoping that our concern would be enough to sway him.

But he doesn't see reason.

Mom, driven by a mix of desperation and determination to keep Dad safe, locked him in the house, hoping it would be a foolproof way to prevent him from embarking on his ill-advised journey to Miami. It was a drastic measure, but she felt it was the only way to make sure he didn't put himself at risk.

But somehow, he found a way to escape.

Here's how I think it happened:

Dad, ever the resourceful and determined spirit, took one look at the locked door and decided that no mere key could stand in his way. With the creativity of a seasoned escape artist, he first tried to squeeze through the tiny window in the laundry room. Of course, the window was too small, and he ended up stuck halfway through, his legs flailing comically.
