The past six months have been an incredibly challenging time for all of us. The trauma that Mike endured had drawn us closer together, creating a tight-knit bond forged through our shared concern and unyielding support. My life became a constant rotation of hospital shifts and personal visits. I threw myself into Mike's care, working my regular hours and then spending any spare moment I had by his side. Dad, too, was a constant presence, rarely leaving Mike's bedside and enduring the long, grueling days at the hospital.

Dad's retirement brought about a surprising change in him. No longer bound by the demands of police work, he was now trying to navigate life as a civilian. His new demeanor was almost unrecognizable. I'd even caught him praying—a dramatic shift from the no-nonsense, pragmatic man I was used to. It's not that I think it's wrong, but it was so out of character that it made me pause. It was as if he was trying to find solace and purpose in a way he never had before.

I went from living at my parents' house to the hospital. My days revolved entirely around Mike's recovery, and the constant cycle of hospital visits, care routines, and sleepless nights became my new normal. The days blurred together, and I lost track of how many months had passed in a relentless haze of exhaustion and anxiety. Every day seemed to drag on, filled with the worry of whether Mike would ever wake up or if he would be in pain for the rest of his life.

However, a glimmer of hope emerged when Mike finally woke from his coma. The sight of him opening his eyes and showing a spark of determination to reclaim his life was like a beacon of light cutting through the fog. It was a turning point that lifted a heavy weight from all of us, even if only a little. His resolve to fight and recover gave us all renewed strength and reminded us of the resilience we all shared. The long, dark months of worry and exhaustion seemed to ease as he began to show signs of progress, making every sacrifice and sleepless night feel worth it.

Today, we have more than one reason to celebrate: Megan and Reggie's wedding, and the significant strides Mike has made towards recovery.

"You may kiss the bride!" The officiant's voice rings out, and the crowd erupts into cheers. Reggie and Megan share their first kiss as a married couple, the moment captured by countless flashes of cameras.

The wedding took place on a stunning shore, where the serene beauty of nature provided a perfect backdrop. The ceremony was set against a picturesque landscape, with the gentle waves of the ocean lapping at the shore. The sun cast a warm, golden glow over everything, enhancing the natural splendor of the scene.

From where I stood, I could see boats gliding gracefully across the water, their sails catching the soft breeze. Tall trees swayed gently in the wind, their leaves rustling softly as if whispering well-wishes to the couple. The air was filled with the soothing sounds of nature, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and celebration.
