It was a clear sunny morning. The daughter of the Roy house ran through the kitchen, preparing her breakfast. Her hands were working smoothly, clearly visible how experience she was in the chores. As she poured the tea a voice came behind her.
"Yeh sab choro Tara. Tum late hojawogi kam ke liye" Sumi ushered her to go. Sitara turned to her and smiled.
(Leave all this Tara. You would be late for work)"No worries maa. Anshu ke saath chali jawungi. Utna late nahi hoga" she assured.
(I will go with Anshu)"Jaisa tum kaho" Sumi sighed and smiled.
(Whatever you say)"Kya bana rahi ho waise?" She asked, glancing at her breakfast.
(What are you making by the way?)"Toasted bread and butter hai maa. Socha simple hi khalu. Aaj utni bhook nahi lagi" Sitara answered as she took a bite of the bread.
(It's toasted bread and butter maa. Thought I will manage with a simple one. I don't feel too hungry today)"Anshu ki date fix huwi?" Sumi asked earning a nod.
(Has Anshu's date fixed?)"Pandit ji ne bola hai next month aacha muhurat hai" Sitara spoke through her food.
(Pandit ji told that next month is auspicious)"Aachi baat hai. Woh bhi ek baar settle hojaye toh sab bariya hai" Sumi smiled and glanced towards her. She just stared at her for few minutes. Hesitating to say the thing she wanted to say. Gathering the courage, she finally spoke.
(It's good. Once she gets settled then everything would be nice)"Aaj ek family aa rahi hai tumhe dekhne. Aachi family hai. Ladka bhi aacha hai-"
(Today a family is coming to see you. The family is nice. The guy is nice too-)"Maa" Sitara immediately stopped her.
"Do I need to say everytime to give some excuse? I don't know what you will say. But don't ask me again. Don't talk to me further about this topic" she disclosed it, drinking a glass of water.
"Tara. Kab tak rahegi tu ase. Kab tak intejar karegi. It's been 7 years-"
(How long are you going to stay like this? How long are you going to wait)"Jab tak mar nahi jawungi tab tak intejar karungi" Sitara cut her off, her eyes blank.
(I will wait until I die)"Agar duniya mein bas mein aur woh hi bache, tab bhi mein uska hi intejar karungi. Agar uske saath nahi toh kisi ke saath nahi maa" she swore.
(Even if only me and him are left in this world, i would still wait for him. If not him than no one else maa)"Woh aayega bhi? Itna saal hogaya usse"Sumi sighed, concern of her daughter's condition.
(Will he even come? It's been years)"Aaj bol diya maa. Dobara nahi. Mera Abir mujhse kabhi jhuth nahi bolega. Woh aayega. Usne kaha hai woh aayega" Sitara was determined. She went out of the kitchen, reaching the hall.
(You said it today maa. Not again. My Abir would never lie to me. He will come. He said he will come)Grabbing her bag from the chair she was about to walked towards the door when a voice stopped her.
"Kab se join kar rahi ho mere idhar?"
(When are you joining at my business?)Sitara turned back to see Yash sipping on his tea.
"Next month se" she answered earning a nod from him. She turned back to walk when she again heard him speaking.
(From next month)"Mein drop kardu?" He suggested, eyeing her. Sitara turned to look at him.
(Should I drop you off?)"Nahi baba. Akansha ke saath ja rahi ho. It's fine. Jarurat pare toh bol dungi" she smiled a little and went out of the house.
(No baba. I am going with Akansha. It's fine. If needed then I would inform)
