(A/n): Quick warning before we start - there's mention of a panic attack in this chapter. (Y/n) has a panic attack. I forgot to include that in the list of overall triggers. I just added it in! Sorry! Your girl doesn't plan stories ahead of time 💀 I just kind of wing it!

"They would have made you the most beautiful finery in my temple." Sukuna pinched the sleeve of the dress you wore. "The seamstresses had talent. Spin around."

It was an odd command, but you fulfilled it, twirling around.

"It looks nice. But you would be much better suited in red." He smiled at you and cupped your face. "Well, at least I would prefer you in red."

The last twenty minutes seemed to be flying over your head. After eating, Sukuna brought up the deal you made - saying that he had a way to prove his end of the bargain was upheld.

And then he merely stated your clothes were tattered and unfit for you. So after a shower (where you finally had a moment to yourself), you found he had hung a dress on the door handle.

It was something that looked far more elaborate and beautiful than anything you had ever worn. It was a deep, vibrant blue, and you couldn't help but feel a little awkward dressed up in it.

"See, you're even more enchanting in person," Sukuna said, his tone lighter than before. "The dress is simply a reflection of your grace. But I must insist, red would suit you better."

You gave a small, self-deprecating laugh. "I'm hardly the picture of grace. And I doubt I have the strength you're looking for."

Sukuna's expression grew more serious. "You underestimate yourself. Strength is not always about physical prowess. It's about how you face the world, how you carry yourself through adversity. That's why I chose you."

Again with the cryptic I chose you. Like would he keep talking in circles forever?

"You promised a way to show me they're safe."

"Seriously? You'd rather ask a question like that rather than ask where we are?"

You blinked, momentarily thrown by his sudden shift in focus. "Where are we, then? I haven't really given it much thought."

"We are in a safe house, far from prying eyes and any potential threats. Consider it a sanctuary, albeit one that you share with me."

You nodded, absorbing the information. "And this sanctuary? It's secure?"

"As secure as it can be," Sukuna said, his tone reassuring but still holding that edge of unpredictability. "As long as I am here, nothing will disturb us. Although I will admit, I miss my temple. One day we could go back."

Wow . . . Okay . . . He was clearly thinking this deal would last a long time . . . Well . . .

You really couldn't formulate how you felt about that.

"I suppose I should be grateful for the security."

He snorted, "It's nothing. I'm really the only security. But I'm the most effective protection you're ever going to have. That much I can assure."

"Are you implying I need to train more?"

"You're doing more than that," Sukuna replied, his tone surprisingly gentle. "You're strong. It's funny how you doubt that. But no. That wasn't what I was implying at all. Now before you get all sappy on me," he pointed down the corridor, "would you like your proof?"
