Nothing felt like it was easy.

Apparently everything you had ever known was beginning to collapse in on you. That was always fun! Not!

Honestly, the last thing you expected to be doing as your very knowledge of the world you had grown up with was shattered . . . was try on dresses.

But alas, here you were.

Sukuna had finished up the red dress and insisted that you try it on immediately in case he needed to make adjustments. And while you hated to admit it . . . it actually was quite pretty.

"So, how's the fit?" Sukuna's voice broke through your thoughts, a hint of smugness in his tone. "If it's not perfect, I'll need to make some adjustments."

He had allowed you to get changed in the room you had woken in while he stood outside the door.

You took a deep breath, trying to shake off the surreal nature of what was now your life.

As you adjusted the dress and gave it a final look in the mirror, you found that the fit was impeccable. The rich red fabric hugged you just right, and the style - well it was nothing short of perfect.

With a sigh, you opened the door and stepped out, meeting Sukuna's gaze. His expression shifted from casual curiosity to genuine interest as his eyes took in the sight of you.

"Looks like you've outdone yourself," you said, trying to keep your voice light despite the heaviness of everything going on. "It fits perfectly."

Sukuna's smirk widened, a rare display of satisfaction crossing his features. "I have an eye for these things. Glad to see it's working out." He eyed you critically for a moment longer, then nodded in approval. "You always look pretty but this dress just makes you even more stunning. It's the red. You look beautiful in red."

You weren't fully sure if he was complimenting you or he was complimenting the dress he had made.

"Is that so?" you replied, raising an eyebrow with a wry smile. "And here I thought you'd be more focused on the impending chaos rather than the color of my dress."

His smile dropped a little. "We aren't trying to ruin your life (Y/n). We're trying to make it better."

Oh how you desired nothing more than to punch him in his - surprisingly handsome - face!

"Better?" you echoed. "People are dead in Shibuya. The whole area's been destroyed. I made this deal with you - and now you're telling me that it didn't really have merit?"

Sukuna took a small step towards you. "I never said the deal didn't have any merit. I just said that the others were aware of what was to occur."

You glared at Sukuna, frustration boiling over. "So you're saying that they sold me out like I was some sort of dog?!"

"Not at all." The demon grimaced, "We're doing this to save you!"

"Well maybe you should actually fucking explain what you're saving me from!" You rubbed a hand over your face. "Sukuna, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm fucking scared!"

His lips parted slightly. "I . . . Yeah you would be scared. This is all strange. You're in a strange place. You feel betrayed. And then there's me, scaring you even more." He gave a small, mirthless laugh. "I'm really going off script from what they all wanted - but you deserve the truth."

"Which is?"

"The world of curses . . . it's dangerous. We all know people who were consumed by the lifestyle. People are constantly dying. People are constantly losing their way." He gestured towards himself, "I mean look at me. I'm a prime example of that. And that's the last thing any of us want."
