09 ♡ Loose ends

"Wait . . . I can seriously go?" Yuji stared at the head nurse with his mouth gaping open. "Like . . . this isn't a trick question?"

The woman smiled at him. "No. It's not a trick question. Answer honestly - do you feel ready to go home?"

Yuji's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you serious? I thought for sure you'd keep me here for another day or so. I mean - it's four in the morning. I think I'm just a little shocked you came around."

The head nurse chuckled, her expression softening. "Well, after some consultation with Dr. Ieiri and considering your improvement, we've decided it's safe for you to go home. Just make sure to follow the aftercare instructions and take it easy."

Yuji nearly leapt from the bed, but he caught himself, wincing at the residual pain in his ribs. "Thank you! I promise I'll be good. I'll follow every single instruction. I just... I can't wait to get out of here."

The nurse handed him some discharge papers and a small bag with his personal belongings. "You'll need to sign these forms before you leave. And remember, no strenuous activity for at least a week."

Yuji quickly signed the papers, his excitement barely contained. "Got it. Thank you so much!"

As the nurse left to prepare his final paperwork, Yuji grabbed his phone and shot a quick message to Gojo.

Yuji: I'm getting discharged! Heading out now. Thanks for all your help!

Gojo: Great news! I'll meet you outside. Can't wait to see you.

Yuji felt a surge of relief and joy. He carefully gathered his things and slowly made his way to the hospital exit, every step bringing him closer to freedom and the reunion he'd been eagerly anticipating.

He was going to see you again.

And then he'd be back to kicking ass.

As Yuji approached the hospital entrance, he spotted Gojo leaning casually against the wall, his signature blindfold making him stand out in the crowd. Gojo's face broke into a wide grin when he saw Yuji.

"There you are!" Gojo called out, waving energetically. "Ready for the big adventure?"

Yuji couldn't help but return the grin. "Absolutely! Let's get out of here."

The two of them walked together, Yuji leaning slightly on Gojo for support, but his spirits were clearly high. Gojo gave him an encouraging pat on the back.

"You've been through a lot, Yuji. I'm proud of you for sticking it out. And don't worry, we've got everything planned."

Yuji's eyes sparkled with anticipation. "I just want to see (Y/n). It's been way too long. It's weird without Sukuna. He used to give me reports on things. While I slept, he noticed things."

Gojo grimaced. "That sounds freaky."

"It was." Yuji shrugged, "But honestly, it kept me informed. It's weird now that he's gone."

The blindfolded man laughed. "I'm sure you'll get used to it."

As they reached the parking lot, Gojo's phone buzzed. He glanced at it quickly and then looked up with a serious expression. "We need to make a quick stop before we head over. There's something important I need to take care of first."
