For Adeline to give Y/N her blessing to hang out with Johnny as a friend seemed to be the greatest thing that happened to YN.

She felt that maybe there was a lifetime that Johnny and her could truly be friends. That there was much more to their relationship.

Y/N and Adeline seemed to get along since. Y/N admitted to everything. How they met, and even how they kissed. And of course, she explained how it was all just a mistake and that she truly didn't mean any harm toward Adeline.

Adeline handled the situation relatively maturely. She didn't get angry at Y/N for having feelings that she couldn't control. And Y/N thought that Adeline was a good person for accepting her instead of shaming her like everyone else did.

And of course, Y/N would sometimes feel a pang of jealousy course through her veins when Johnny would hug her every now and then. Or maybe Y/N would just simply stare at her ceiling fan while sitting in her room, trying to figure out what her life could've been if she only met Johnny earlier.

She truly believed they were soulmates.

She was unconditionally and irrecoverably in love with him.

And she strongly believes that in another lifetime, there would be a moment where they are together. Not just as friends. Sitting in the drive-in with sodas in their hand and talking about their future.

And she hoped to be able to just teleport herself into that theoretical universe. That she'd give up a lot just to be able to live a lifetime where they end up together.

That she'd do everything right. And eventually, they'd be able to get their happily ever after.

She felt stupid and dumb for thinking this way. She would brush off those thoughts and try her best to feel supportive of Adeline when she was with Johnny. A boy who deserved every single ounce of love that Adeline would give him.
