some time later...
Today was a very nervous day for Solange and Rod.
It happened, it was their day to walk down the aisle. Some would say it was very early for them to get married, but what's the point in waiting 10 plus years to marry someone who you know is the one?
Solange sipped on some champagne to ease her nerves.
"Girl just chill, stop stressing it creates wrinkles." Aaliza said as she was slipping on her bridesmaids dress.
"Literally girl just take a deep breath, you've been with this man for 3 years. Just block out everyone in the guest chairs and put your attention on just him." Azura said.
Solange nodded and took a deep breath. She looked up when she heard a knock on the door. Soon her mother's head peaked into the room.
"Awww my baby you look so beautiful." She said with a teary smile.
"Thank you momma." Solange smiled.
"You ready?"
Solange sighed and nodded putting a smile on her face.
"Man what is y'all doing?" In came Jakaii ready to walk his sister down the aisle.
"We was talking boy hush." Solange waved him off.
"Okay well it's time to zip it up and wrap your arm around mine so I can present you to this bald-headed ass nigga." Kai said.
"Okay calm down my man ain't allat now." Solange chuckled.
"Bae you do the most for real." Aaliza walked up to him and smoothed down his suit.
Kai leaned down and gave her a quick peck.
"Okay now come on." Kai said.
Solange walked up to her brother and wrapped her arm around his. They walked out the room and got into their respective positions.
The infamous music played and the groomsmen and bridesmaids walked down the aisle. Mulani came down the aisle tossing flowers.
And now it was time for Solange to be walked out. As soon as she saw Rod all her nerves disappeared.
This was the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with and she had no doubts whatsoever.
Rod turned his head and looked at the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with. Tears immediately sprung to his eyes.
"This sap ass nigga crying." Jakari laughed.
"Stop cussing in the church." Mulani stepped on her uncle's foot.
One last step and Solange was in front of her husband to be.
Jakaii dapped up Rod, "I trust you, I know you got her."
"Preciate it." Rod nodded.
"You may all be seated." The Minister announced.
"Well ladies and gentlemen we are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, the joining Solange and Rodney. We all know marriage is a huge commitment, but we're here today because we all share the faith that these two here are meant to be. We all feel the love in the air, it's heavy, a comfortable heavy that we all wish we could carry as well as these two. I won't hold this up any longer so we will proceed with vows."
Solange let out a shaky breath, "I never imagined that I would be standing here today, sharing this moment with you and everyone in this room. I always thought this route wasn't for me, you came when I least expected. Well you were very persistent, I ignored you so much.."
Rod laughed along with the guests.
"Yes y'all he was on my trail bad. But I finally caved in and little did I know, that was the best thing I could've done. You came in my life and showed me a love that was so unconditional. Every flaw and every fail, you were there. And now with every flaw and fail that you have I will be there, no running. I will always be there to comfort you, I will be in every corner supporting you and cheering you on. I love you, from then, now, and further on." Tears were falling down both faces, tears of love.
"I knew from the moment that I saw you, you would be the one to hold my heart dear. I wasted no time in trying to pursue you, even though you ignored me so much, I didn't take offense to it. You've been in my corner through my fails and successes. You are my number one supporter, and I yours. I cherish you, I would walk through fire for you, I would give you my last breath if you were on yours. I'm ready to enter this next chapter in our lives. I love you, from then, now, and further on." Rod concluded his vows.
"Repeat after me. I, Solange Apollo James..." The Minister said.
"I, Solange Apollo James, take you Rodney Artis Evans, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
"And now repeat after me. I, Rodney Artis Evans..."
"I, Rodney Artis Evans, take you Solange Apollo James, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
"You may now kiss the bride." The Minister granted.
Rod wasted no time in pulling Solange close and giving her a long awaited kiss.
Claps and hollers of excitement roared aloud.
"I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Evans."
