Damian entered his father's modest room, where a plush fur bed sat amidst a collection of weapons and scrolls. The walls were adorned with hunting trophies and training charts, a testament to his father's dedication to their craft. The scrolls, worn from use, revealed the techniques and strategies his father had taught him. But the room was empty, his father nowhere to be found.
"He must have gone to the meeting," Damian thought.
"Hopefully, it will go smoothly," he added
After leaving Fela's room, Damian emerged from the cottage, stretching his limbs in the fresh morning air. With a rare morning free of tasks, he decided to pay a visit to Kael.
The gentle lapping of Silverbrook Lake's waters against the shore brought back a flood of memories for Damian as he approached Kael's home. He remembered the sunny afternoons they spent fishing from the lake's edge, the excitement of landing a prized fish, and the easy conversations that flowed as smoothly as the lake's current. Those were indeed fun times, and Damian looked forward to rekindling that spirit with his friend.
As Damian approached Kael's house, he spotted Tami, Kael's mother, outside.
She had dark hair, a stark contrast to Kael's brown locks, and was busily hanging washing linens on the line, her hands moving with a gentle efficiency.
When she saw Damian, a warm smile spread across her face, and Damian's own face mirrored the gesture.
He hastened towards her, eager to envelop her in a hearty hug.
Tami was more than just a friend's mother to Damian - she was the embodiment of maternal warmth and kindness, a steady presence in his life who had offered comfort and guidance when he needed it most.
"Tami!" Damian exclaimed, his voice filled with affection, as he wrapped her in a warm hug.
"How have you been, dear boy?" Tami asked, her voice dripping with warmth, as she held him back to study his face.
