Damian emerged from the forest, he entered a world unlike anything he had ever seen. After a short walk, he arrived at the bustling town of Pebillous, its name prominently displayed on a wooden sign. He recognized it as a town from his father's stories, and his eyes widened as he took in the sights and sounds. Towns, he realized, were essentially large villages, teeming with activity.

The architecture amazed him - stone slabs roofed with iron and painted in vibrant colors, while stone-paved roads wound through the town

People dressed differently from those in Brindlemark, where he grew up. Here, men wore long pants and crisp tunic's adorned with rings and strange devices they frequently checked on their wrists. Damian wondered what purpose these devices served.

Women wore elegant gowns in a rainbow of colors, complemented by glittering earrings, bracelets, and necklaces that caught the sunlight. The air was alive with the hum of activity - merchants and customers haggling over prices of fresh produce, clothing, weapons, jewelry, and more.

Even the mode of transportation was foreign to Damian. Horses pulled carriages, unlike in Brindlemark, where people relied on their own legs. The sounds, sights, and smells of Pebillous overwhelmed him, yet he was determined to explore this new world.

As Damian walked through the town, he drew some glances, but they quickly returned to their daily activities, not paying attention to him. The peaceful atmosphere of the town was a testament to his father's words - the outside world was indeed vast and indifferent. Damian sighed, hoping his father would be okay without him.

He passed by an old man's stall, where the enticing aroma of roasted fish wafted through the air. The vendor, a grey-haired man in his sixties, noticed Damian's interest. "Young man, I see you eyeing my fish."
